No. That festival doesn't really appeal to me. I appreciate the skill of those guys cooking over an open fire, but their rules are really weird. If you win, you have to cook for them 6 times during the following year, at the times of their choosing, for no pay. Not how I roll.

But you would get to wear the crown for a year

And drink all the Crown Royal you can drink

Don't blame you one bit. I read that they were changing the venue. This will likely hurt it, according to most.

As close as I live to Gonzales I've never been. Where is the old venue and where is the new? I had never really thought about the location other than I knew it was in G Town

Moving from Lamar Dixon to The Texas Club.

In Baton Rouge? The Texas Club is in the hood. That sucks.

That's what I read from comments by people who previously participated and are not this year.

I thought the cooking was all done outside over an open flame. There is lots of room inside the Texas Club but with all the cooks outside with their trucks and trailers and equipment there won't be much parking space for the attendees

It's in the same place it's always been.

"The Jambalaya Festival Association, chartered in 1967, invites you to mark your calendar for the 50th annual Jambalaya festival to be held in Gonzales, Louisiana on May 26 - May 28, 2017."

I see some band called Snapper and the Fishsticks are playing. Pretty bad but I love the name
