maybe he just wants to get the Guaranteed money...quit and come back to lsu..hell that's what i'd do...
I kinda feel for Elliot Porter now. He coulda been on scholarship this semester. I suppose Porter supporters would say that's what we get for greyshirting him, though.
I looked into that a little more and found out that we have to appeal the NCAA to get Fordham that scholarship back for this semester or it will have to go to a walk-on who has been with the program for over a year. So either way Porter and Fordham had to be taken off of scholarship while Lee was here. No way around it.
Then I say give Bailey one so people will quit freaking out about having two scholly QBs! *Congrats on post 12,000. Glad to be a part of that milestone!

Keep in mind that football players get the worst contracts in professional sports- those contracts aren't guaranteed and the only thing they can bank on is the signing bonus. And, while 5M is a lot of money, he could have also gotten even more money to play baseball. Jeff Samardzija was given 10M to play baseball for the Cubs in his first rookie contract to convince him not to play in the NFL. Of course, that situation wasn't exactly the same since Shark had played and proven himself at the college level with Notre Dame whereas Lee could just as easily flamed out as a QB. John Booty came into SC as a heralded recruit, and ended up getting picked by the Vikings in the 5th round. There's no guarantee that Lee would have been great enough as a QB in college to get big money as a high draft pick, whereas he was given guaranteed 5M by the Dodgers. (And, I think the era of draft picks in football given all that money will end with the next collective bargaining agreement, in no small part due to Jamarcus Russell's spectacular combustion in Oakland.)
