play to win and dont look past anyone ... we want to win this thing not look good for a couple of games
This I agree with and would add, do the same thing he's been doing all season. It has given us more W's than anyone else, and won all but 2 series for the season. Which is why I just don't see anyone that can take us in a 3 game series.
All the above posts have good merit and are very interesting possibilities...but no one considered the game situation as the game progresses. We could start one pitcher or the other and we may have a huge lead by the third inning or we could have a close pitchers duel. We could have either scenario with the starter having lots or few pitches. Starting one pitcher over another is not important as game management of the pitching staff as a whole as the game progresses. I know one thing, it's real nice having the deepest pitching staff in the tournament and giving them three days rest !!! The other teams HAVE to take it one game at a time like there's no tomorrow ... but we don't have to ... do we? :hihi:.
Their last pitcher, who I assume was their closer, just finished the game off throwing over 60 pitches.
