i can. i dont have cable tv and when i read about the story i read the less sensationalistic sites like bbc. the brits take a "those silly americans" type of attitude when reporting american news.

What about the recent killings of two tourist crackas in florida, or the MSU shootings... why don't these murders fit the bill for an elevated crime of hate? So where is the black community when thousands of black men and women are gunned down a year by other black men and women? You just don't know it because it's not newsworthy and you can't relate to it. It is not a common experience for you. In regard to THIS case, picture this: You're the parents of Trayvon Martin. He's been killed and you do not know why. You're asking questions and they're going unanswered. You're calling people of authority in Sanford and being ignored. You have not seen a police report. Everywhere you turn, people who should be trying to help you find closure, are evading you. They all happen to be white. Are there motives racial? Maybe, maybe not. You tend to believe not...just a case of a community protecting their own. So what do you do? You start making calls. You get this on the national news. You call Al and Jesse's networks, because, for all the negativity associated with them, they command the medias attention, for better or worse. Now everyone knows what you're facing and can understand your plight. Many people with pick sides, and that's fair. Many will pick sides along racial lines. That's expected. But at least, the incompetent clusterfuck that is the Sanford Police Department is now in the spotlight. All their other coverups are revealed, including the one relating to the very man that took your son's life. This is a culture. Why was this investigation so badly mishandled. Why didn't the police interview all witnesses. These are questions you've been asking for over a week and you've been ignored. They cannot ignore you anymore. As sensible people, you realize the case is going to be a tough one to prove, but you want everyone to understand that Justice for Trayvon is not just about putting Zimmerman behind bars, because that's a tough sell in a state where Casey Anthony is free. Justice for your son is also about putting the brightest spotlight you can find on the Sanford police department. THAT'S you're real target. Not Zimmerman, who probably won't do very much time even if he's convicted of manslaughter. You can accept that because of the nature of the case. What you cannot, and will not accept, is no charges being levied at all. So, you guys can call them race baiters, which they have certainly been guilty of in the past. You can point the finger at everyone on the other side of the debate and question why it's racial (while ignoring that the debate lines are markedly racially divided). But in reality, it's not an issue of race. It's an issue of entitlement.
You realize the hate crime allegation is because everyone thought he said "fucking coon" right? The comments and content of the 911 recording is what created the hate crime allegation...not the simple GZ shooting TM. I agree, you are turning into Sabanfan . What happened?
