1. She was identifying herself with humor, Bud. I think most people got it. She needed to lighten up.
  2. Political adds are about getting votes. I think, from reading the posts in this thread, it's pretty obvious how effective it was by how many minds she changed/didn't change here.
  3. I thought that the topic was going to be about calling Sabanfan a girl.
  4. Do you want me to be a girl?
  5. I can't get over her nagging voice...drives me crazy. i don't care what she stands for, I can't stand that voice
  6. Only if you were a hot one. I have a feeling you'd be a naggy chick, though. But if you were hot I could tune you out.
  7. Exactly. She is incredibly shrill when she gets worked up. I think her fake Southern Drawl is the funniest thing I've ever heard. We are still talking about Sabanfan, right?
  8. It's funny how those things really do come into play when we elect our public officials. A good looking guy, for example, will get a lot of votes from the ladies. For some reason, when the public sees a nice-looking, clean-cut guy, there's a certain assumption. Same for women.

Public speaking is huge, I hated Gore but had to admire his ability in ripping Bush in debates. He always appeared so comfortable and Bush, on the other hand, so nervous- stumbling through thoughts/words.
  9. I remember how different Gore tried to portray himself after each debate. In one, he was calm and agreeable. He took heat. So the next one, he was fiery and objectionable. It came off to me as being very awkward to me. Of course, Bush always looks awkward, so almost anyone would look great debating him.

The best thing from that time was the SNL spoofs of those debates. Greatness.
  10. Just goes to show that intelligence and public speaking ability have nothing in common.
