Th Process talk is getting old, Saban doesn't coach here and if playing for the SEC Title in Atlanta is Regressing - then I guess I've regressed. Geaux Tigers!!! :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige
Good sound philo football ala Saban is great. And he does like to stress the fundamentals over a win. BUT WHY does he do this??? answer: Because he believes that good sound fundamental football equates to more wins. That's why he focus' on the how we got there instead of the results. he figures if you do the first thing the results take care of themselves. Good philosophy. He's probably right. Did his team always do this? wherever he coached... No he said so himself. would Miles probably disagree with this method? doubtful. although the means to the end might differ. So the point is, regardless of what SABAN says about winning ugly, losing pretty... the REASON you STRESS the fundamentals of the game is to WIN. if you want to lose you don't have to do anything special. the winning is the thing man, even Saban would tell you that means to an end type thing.
I SEE your point, and I agree with it, but I just don't want to see this team slip up... you can only be lucky for so long... and points wise, if LSU doesnt get another DOINK tonight, they lose....
I know exactly what you are talking about, and I share your concerns. I guess that the best thing for us to do is to leave it in the hands of the coaches and for us to be good fans who support the team at all times. If we want to comment on being disappointed on this coaching decision or that number of dropped passes, or if we want to say that we might have been lucky to win today, we should do so, but we should always try to give some props at the same time that we are finding some fault. I've noticed that when people voice a concern or complaint on this message board, no matter how justified, some other people who read the board get very upset, almost as if they are personally insulted. That's why I plan in the future to give some props to somebody whenever I voice a concern or complaint. JR played a good game today. I have no complaint with him today. I know that our RBs are not completely healthy, so I have to give them some props. I'm disappointed in Justin Vincent's fumble at a critical time, but, that kind of thing can happen to NFL RBs. The O Line did well, I thought. The LSU offense struggled today. My guess is because of the dropped passes. The Defense won the game for us! BIG PROPS to the defense. They gave up two TDs in the 2nd Half, which is really only one more than they should have, because Arky can score some points. However, the BIG D held Arky to only 17 points, so that's good too. And of course, I know that you and I share the joy with every other LSU Tigah fan tonight, because we are 10-1, we are in the Top 5, and we are going to the SECCG. I believe that we will have to play better against Georgia in order for us to win that game.
With the talent LSU has, LSU should have dominated teams this season but they didn't. They beat Auburn, Alabama and Ark by a grand total of 8 points. Savor this season guys...I don't see Miles contending for much after this year. That 21 point come from behind win by UT might be a taste for what's in store for the future of the Miles tenure.
we had the same talent last year, add Spears and Webster. different coach, same results for the most part. it is ok you are bitter......Georgia Tech will keep you out of a BCS bowl, and Jostens is already taking orders for your 2005 SEC West Championship rings (mythical, of course). see ya next year!
