I said it yesterday that the Tigers' fate would rest in the hands of the guards. Bass & Davis would get their share, but Minor, Mitchell and Hudson would determine the outcome. The NCAA tournament is all about great guard play and last night the Tiger guards were awful. Minor was a perpetual turnover machine and Mitchell and Hudson couldn't throw it in the ocean the shooting was so bad. But I don't put all the blame on them. I blame Brady and the staff for this one. LSU looked totally unprepared for the pressure that UAB delivered and not just the pressure but even the half court offense UAB ran the Tigers were just chasing them and fouling, defense was horrible. The Tigers literally looked lost and like a team that prepared for a Math test but instead had to take a History test. It got so embarrassing I had to turn it off midway through the second half because I was literally getting ill. While most of the other higher seeds, with the exception of Bama, having close games but ultimately winning, LSU goes out and gets blown out by UAB, a team most pundits believed didn't belong in the tournament. Nice job!
Last few games we learned that Hud was a perpetual 3 point machine. Hud no have the hot hand here.
You know, I've stayed out of this Brady controversy the last few years because I really just haven't watched basketball as closely in the Brady era like I did in the Dale era and I don't feel entirely qualified. So I sure ain't geting into it now. All I can say is that our last three NCAA's were all blowout losses when the LSU team just didn't show up for the game. These teams simply don't know how to play in a tournament. It was obvious early last night that the Tigers were unfocused, but no corrections were implemented during the game. The team was not ready to play. It's the coach's job to get the team ready to play.
I've tried staying out of the Brady "stay or go" argument myself. Although I didn't get to see the game I did see the score and read the recaps. I am jumping on the TE bandwagon and think Brady needs to pack his crap. I am so tired of the probation excuse as well. We have been off of probation for at least 4 years now so that is no excuse. Send Brady on his way and get a new coach.
C'mon, folks, let's give credit where credit's due here. I don't know the guy from Adam, but TE has been taking it---and I mean taking it---on this forums the past month or so over this coach. Personally, I found his post to be classy and restrained. That being said, all those "Brady Bandwagoners" should be prepared to be peppered with the same sort of cat-calls you've lobbed TE's way (and towards all who, like me, just never saw what you saw in Brady) in recent weeks. Sow the seeds, reap the whirlwind... Seems like, oh, the ten billionth time Brady's said this in his time in Baton Rouge. When is enough enough, folks?
