He had to kick him off he failed MULTIPLE drug tests, without punishments of missing games. I applauded his decision to boot him from team, and it helped the young man in the end. In the last few years you didn't see a suspension of a player, kinda odd...
90's got bad. 80's had moments with Arnsparger. 70's were not all that. But what do you want from a talent rich state? Do you expect more? Do you want to play 2nd fiddle to Alabama, is that acceptable to you? We always underachevied which is my point even with Miles. Saban grew here, and became who he is, he wasn't who he is now before getting to LSU in a talent rich state. We have better, we need better
Arnsparger was a great coach and pissed me off when he took the UF AD job and fucked LSU out of hiring a young Steve Spurrier.
winning conference champs is considered "not that good?" We had 3 SEC champs during that time. We did have a stretch of looking rough but to put a blanket statement that we were not good is an over reach. We weren't vandy or Kentucky
We had 2 conference champs in Miles tenure. We lost another to UGA, they smoked us. 2 in 11 years. Yes LSU should win more than that, at least win the West more than 3 times especially since Miles started when Alabama was on probation.
I don't disagree that we could do better but to state "This is LSU" when history shows its not, is not accurate. This is what LSU SHOULD be
I am going to tell you this because I have made mistakes in my memory. I am a disabled vet with neurological problems. I have no problem with anyone using it against me here lol. I have to look stuff up I forget sometimes, I am sorry for some mistakes I make and will make with names and such
We have the talent coming in. History or not, when you lead the NFL in football players on opening day rosters, if you aren't winning the conference you need to look at the coaches.
per Wikipedia he's 12-4 so... ed's record 12-4 (75% winning %) les' record 114-34 (77% winning %) i'm just saying let's hold off on the o statue
To imply we have always stunk is not accurate either. We have been a great football program, we will be again. The situation is set up in such a way that if the program is managed correctly we should always be. Actually it is a better scenario than the gumps have. We really have no instate rival to worry about recruiting against and could/should have a wall around the state to keep in the fruitful products that Louisiana produces. We need to get back to that, but saying we are and have been a ho hum football team is not looking at history very well. We didn't just stumble in to success recently, again we aren't vandy/Kentucky
