My concern: Flynn is the senior with the experience. Les counts on that over everything else. Flynn having a bad day. Les will stick with him come hell or high water. Almost every team we've played has gone to an alternative when the starter falters. Will Les?

I've seen him go with senior vs hot hand before. Is that good? I don't know.

watching the game I was thinking that RP would be able to avoid some of those 6 sacks we gave up.. Wow that Off Line really got blow apart on most of the passing plays, whats up with that?? I don't care who starts at QB but we are not getting better each week are we? Hopefully it will all come together against Florida.... Go Tigers

The same amount as RP did. That would be 1.

Ok I did not read the rest of the post simply because I am ****ing tired, so if this was already posted I am sorry.

The reason for Matts horrid passing and gross overthrows is the fact that he is OVER compensating for his ankle. I believe that he thinks or feels that his ankle is worse then it is. If you pay attention to the mechanics of his throw when he falls back and plants he is fine no signs of anything wrong. (this is because this action is automatic) What is intresting is as he moves forward to release the ball he appears to think he is hurting his ankle at which he lifts the hurt foot off the ground and throws the ball with more arm strength then needed.

I do think that if he does not get over this and contuines to play this year, before the end of the season he will throw his arm out. He needs to get his feet underneath him and know that his ankle will hold up under pressure.

Late in the game he took some pretty bad hits and a couple of times fell awkwardly on that ankle and he seemed ok when getting up, so maybe after this game he will understand that his ankle is ok and he will fall back to old form.

And to all those with the crushes on RP the guy had -1 yards through the air. How you get -1 in passing I have NO clue.

The guy will get his chance next season and he will be great but he is NOT READY to lead this team the way a field generel does.

Yep, they let him throw twice, both deep, without having thrown the ball in 5 hours. Give me a break, he looked like Flynn, but without preferring to throw into coverage.

Everything about the offense in the first half was ugly. BUt the ugliest thing was Flynn's play. However, he once again had no business playing in this game. He is hurt, and it is affecting the flow of the entire offense.

What makes this offense go is that defenses have no choice but to respect the run, including the speed option. For the last two weeks that part of the offense has been non existent. This is affecting the separation the receivers get from the DB's because they do not half to check for the run. It is affecting the passing game because even the slightest bit of defensive penetration is enough to sack Flynn at the present time since he is basically lost all of his mobility. And the worst thing is for the long term is this has to be eating his confidence away.

He has to feel right now he can't hit the broad side of a barn. And he is right. His throws are sailing because he cannot plant his foot. Then he tries to compensate, and underthrows the ball or just misses badly on wide open receivers.

Again, not all Flynn's fault. He shouldn't have played the last two weeks.

Now he has an additional two games of wear on a bum ankle going into the biggest game of the CFB season.

Makes no sense to me, but I can't really blame Flynn because if it was me, I would want to play too.

RP comes in and moves the chains pretty much at will against these two teams, and we send him back to the bench. We did not need Flynn to win these games. Think of the multiple benefits of this. Had Flynn not played, he would almost certainly be 100% by next week. RP gets two more valuable games to hone his skills. And we are still 5-0.

Now do I think RP should start against UF? Hell no! we can't start him now. Even if Flyn is 75% he has to start now. Our coaches basically told RP he is gonna just run the ball. Even though he's completed 80% of his passes and thrown 6-1 TD/int ratio.

We are gonna need him to help us win that game, even if Flynn is 100%. Which he won't be because we played him against the patsies for no reason other than he's a senior and waited his turn.

A completely healthy Matt Flynn is the right guy to be the starter for now. But not by more than a goat hair.

Haven't heard many people calling for RP to be the starter, just saying he should be getting more playing time especially untill MF has recovered from his injury. Also i do not know why you say he is not ready to lead this team the way a field generel does. He gets the job done and moves the team. But no doubt, MF, has more field general skills now, not that RP is lacking there that I can see.
