I am through arguing on this forum, but I will continue to compliment a good post. This is exactly what is going on. Those that don't see this are viewing the world through very biased lenses.

    Saying "NO" is not governing.

Why? Don't let the local Hitler Youth discourage you. It's actually pretty easy to win arguments against them.

For crying out loud, Red. The crisis is the nearly $15 Trillion debt and an unwillingness by elected officials to do anything about it. The Tea Party is the one forcing Congress to address spending cuts. Without their intransigence (your term) the debt limit would be raised and Obama would go on spending like a drunken sailor until he's thrown out. Get over your hatred of Bush and the GOP and start thinking rationally.

Yes it is. But that is a crisis that has been growing for decades, it is not new. What is new is trying to use a routine debt ceiling raise for a minority party to try to force their entire agenda to be adopted. The debt ceiling has nothing to do with new spending, it just authorizes us to pay the debts that Congress is already obligated to pay.

The debt ceiling has never been a crisis before because it has never been used for political leverage like this before. It is not only an unrelated crisis to the national debt crisis, but it is totally unnecessary and contrived by the Tea Party to force the GOP to dance to their fiddler.

For crying out loud, can't you see that the Tea Party is fracturing the GOP, embarrassing Boehner, and alienating the other half of the elected representatives with whom they must work to achieve anything? The fallout from this is going to be massive. And you ain't going to like it, amigo.

This isn't political with me anymore. The politicians need to quit spending more than they take in and they need to start now. Either way, Obama will be out on his ass so It's all good with me.

We all agree, they should start tomorrow doing just that. Spending less and taking in more.

Start with cutting subsidies to oil companies making record profits in the billions. Follow with agriculture subsidies. Then revert taxes on the top 5% to 1990's levels. They will never lose a bit of lifestyle. Then make judicious revisions of Social Security, Medicare and careful defense cuts to save costs.

But don't ruin the credit rating of the nation to make a political point. The Tea Party doesn't appear to know when the politics stop and the governing must begin.

The tea leaves ain't saying that right now. The GOP is already considering making the maximum effort to win the Senate instead.

They take in plenty already. It's the spending habits that need to be changed.

That's fine with me as long as they don't impede their exploration and production capabilities. The price of oil affects the entire economy.

That's fine with me too, as long as the food supply is unaffected.

That might make you feel better but it won't do squat to reduce the deficit.

That's the best plan of all but they are sacred cows and politicians won't touch them...except for Tea Partiers who you seem to think are extremist kooks.

Tea Party legislators are trying to do what they were elected to do. They are willing to make the hard decisions to get this thing turned around. You talk out of both sides of your mouth. You want governing to begin yet you defend Obama at every turn. Obama cannot even spell govern.

My tea leaves are saying Obama is toast. Harry Reid will ensure a GOP majority in the Senate. 'Pubs only have to sit back and let it happen.

i dont think they want less national defense. the tea party supporters are flag waving white trash patriots.

and education doesnt need money, it needs reform. basically the way to fix education is to reform labor laws and lessen the power of unions.

the tea party is obviously a bunch of wacked out religious lunatics, but thats ok, right now they are doing the best possible thing.
