Its funny how you have all the answers. Are you an insider from the NY Times or something? Are you telling me the announcement the day before and after the Sugarbowl are just a coincedence? I think you are stirring the pot. I bet you couldn't wait to get on your little computer and post this on an LSU message board could you? Its obviously in your eye just like the all the crap happening before, during and after the Sugarbowl. It is also about recruting!
Terry, the reason it is such a good deal for Bama is that it puts the focus on Bama. Sure you want that, just like LSU wanted the focus on them during the Sugar Bowl. The announcement of Saban took away some of that focus. Saban's comments about the LSU players being his also takes away focus from LSU. The stage that they earned was overturned by a marketing ploy. As you said The reason Saban was in play is because he was successful at LSU and Bama is trying to capitalize on that relationship\success. It may be smart business, but I wouldn't expect LSU fans to like it. I would expect warm fuzzies were also difficult to find when Brother Bill came to Auburn.
I wanted him to fail at Miami and anywhere else he coached after he left LSU in the manner in which he left, that has not changed.
I don't think this has anything to do with LSU. Tuesday's game is the first time Saban can appear in front of a large crowd of fans. It's just irony that it comes against LSU. Kind of reminds me of aTm introducing their baseball team before our game in 89 when LSU had beaten them twice to win the regional from the loser's bracket in College Station. About 10,000 LSU fans were there to laugh at them. (Unfortunately, that was about the last time we laughed that night.) GEAUX TIGERS
She can stir the pot here all she wants, amigo. She's been here a long time and is respected, as are you. Saban was announced at a basketball game after he was hired here, too. So was Miles, it's no big deal, really. But it is definitely thumbing his nose at LSU at bit and you know it. It didn't have to be this game. Get real, Terry. Bertman has no position for Nick. What was he supposed to do? Fire a coach who is recruiting as good as Nick did and has an even better record? To hire a guy with happy feet? If we were looking to replace Miles it would have been different. But we ain't.
I'm not trying to stir the pot. bama did that extremely well by hiring $aban to start with. They are a perfect match. A marriage made in heaven. Flashing him on national TV will only further nauseate the rest of the country who already recognize him for the sleaze that he has demonstated himself to be in the last few weeks. I am totally thrilled that bama got $aban and you can read my Auburn board where I said several weeks a go I hoped they got him. I was scared that bama might get Gonzales, Petrino or Johnson. Hope you enjoy your next probation.
it is not classless at all. and if you would look at when saban was hired and the following home game after that; it just so happens to be the people from baton rouge. it would be classless if they had a homegame prior to the game with ya'll and waited to do it then at the lsu game. but thats not the case. so just get over bama trying to put it in ya'lls face. they will do that on the court. roll tide!!! home of the 12 time NC's
So why did it have to be the 1st home game? Why not wait a few days and do it at the Vandy game. I mean it's not like everyone don't already know he is there. Do you think there will be anyone at the LSU game that doesn't know $aban is the new FB coach?
