Who is "we"? The decision was made even before Oeaux blew the game against ucla but plenty of USC fans were hoping he would get a chance. Pat Haden had already dialed up PC and PC told him to hire Sark, end of story. I've always said I liked Ed and would have favored giving him a very short 1-2 year deal but I think he ended up where he was meant to be. And I'm not sure things would have been a whole lot different at USC because the football program doesn't have the support of the BoT and Pat Haden, then Lynn Swann, are incompetent morons. WTF? Ed Oeaux is never coming back to USC. Why would he want to? There are plenty of the monied alums who would be happy to have Urban because they want to win which makes their investment in the new VIP suites a good decision. But they have no control over the BoT and the new President who would set the pay for any new head coach. What do you know about what I said? I think it's great that LSU can pack a stadium but anyone who thinks that improving the academic situation at your school won't bring in more money isn't thinking much at all.
I would say that the two aren't mutually exclusive as both camps would have you believe. See Texass or aTm. Plenty money in both.
