You talk about speed like it is a bad thing. You did watch that reverse play? someone with 4.5 speed would not have scored on that play..

no. i posted---"he's fast, so if you get it to him (hand it off on a reverse) in space its good" i cant recall him catching a ball thrown 10 yds from scrimmage. at this point he's not a wr, he's a gimmick. you tell me, would you rather have clayton or henderson? i know its a stupid question, but i just think blazing speed is overrated.
Funny. It was Moo U that X-Man got his one and only score against last year. I think he'll get more this year, though.
Let’s not complain about XC, the kid had 6 balls thrown to him & caught 5 with 2 TD's last year. He set up the winning drive last year with a big return against ASU. This year 4 passes thrown to him with 2 drops (Early's dropped 3 of his first 4 passes). So he has a total of 10 passes thrown to him for his career at LSU. Once he becomes more consistent he will be a big play WR for us.

You obviously don't remember the 2004 miss st when he caught a 10yard curl route then took it to the house. For some reason this kid had great hands coming into LSU, but with him not playing much the past 2 years he has lost his concentration. He is far from a gimmick, you should have seen him in high school. So before you make stupid ass statements He should have watched him play. Bennie Brazell was a gimmick until this year when he actually ran a route and caught a ball.
Well, Henderson had a lot of early problems at WR to and many thought of him similar to what you feel about XC, a guy known for blazing speed(and DH is very, very fast) but not all that productive. It's a learning curve and some guys develope much quicker than others. You're right that speed can be overrated, it is not as important as the the other facets of being a great wide receiver but it sure doesn't hurt to have it. I'd say that our 2 best WR's, Bowe and Davis, are most likely the 2 slowest(not quite as fast) of the bunch. But Davis comes out of his cuts very fast and Bowe uses his size and moves very well.
Contained Chaos X-Man got a TD against UGA last year but it is overshadowed by that other thing he did that game.
Hell, think about Eddie Kennison. For years, the only route that guy could run was a go route. He developed (eventually) and after getting by on his speed even in the NFL (to a degree), he turned into a solid PROFESSIONAL wide receiver. All of these guys develop at different rates, so it's foolish to have the same expectations for every player.
