    Cool.

I'm glad to hear it is not as bad as is reported. I'll admit that I have never actually been to a game in Morgantown, but I work with multiple people who have attended games and who are WVU alums.

The VT Hokie grads I work with tell me that they have been pelted with beer and harassed while attending games there. The WVU alums I work with would tell others going to a WVU game to make sure their car did not have any stickers for opposing schools because their cars "would probably get keyed" if they did. These were not stories I relayed and had WVU alums laugh at me...these were conversations between 3rd parties at work that I personally witnessed.

I am glad to hear that the bark is worse than the bite. However, by your own admission that nasty behavior to opposing fans does happen fairly regularly.

The article from the Auburn site with fan comments purportedly by fans actually in attendance (I realize these could be total fabrication) tend to reinforce the reputation that WVU fans have.

Wasn't there also an incident not too long ago with your basketball team where your own governor got on the PA system and chastised an element of the fans in attendance for throwing bottles onto the court?

Throwing stuff at people is not cool, and I'd like to think that stuff does not happen anywhere - especially at LSU.

When this game was penciled in, I was very excited because I like the level of play that the Mountaineers have been known for over the last several years.

I hope it is a fantastic game. I know in my heart that the LSU fans will welcome WVU fans with open arms and treat them with a level of warmth and dignity that will probably be 100% counter to most negative preconceptions about LSU fans. We're passionate, no doubt. But we treat our fellow man with dignity.

I normally do not trash talk, but one of your fellow fans came on here and started to flame our defense as "trash". It got my dander up a bit. I'll settle down now and enjoy talking about the relative merits of each other's team now.

    Peace.

Didn't that happen @ the LSU/UGA game in '03? I know it's part of the legend that is LSU fan behavior. Snogs, this is the same sort of stuff that is said about LSU fans. Many of the stories are circulated by AU fans, and the OU fans were not fans of ours, either.

Otherwise, most of the time, folks from other schools report that they have a good time in BR.

WVU isnt that bad. Il will admit some student on the boose get rowdy but nothing bad. I went to the Maryland game yesterday and the Terp fans i talked to loved the game and the fans. There were a couple terps in the Student section through and got the A@@ hole chant and fingers pointed at them but thats all. their will always be the dumb drunk all schools have but the majority of the fans are great.

I also went down the the Auburn game and most fans were great (except for the drunks) the one the i hated was not being able to bring my peperoni rolls from WV to the game. They other tigers had nothing good to say about LSU fans, but i know WVU never says anything nice about pitt so i get the rivals. I live in East Tenn near Knoxville and seen lsu play their cheered lsu on. the LSU fans their were nice so im ganna hope thats what LSU is going to be like and try to avoid the students "piss bags" according to Auburn

No problems, I'm afraid that our reputation is to some degree deserving and it's a bit shameful, but no nearly as bad as the tall tales. The main core of the issue is you've been conversing with Chokie fans, and they're the type to make it seem like Morgantown is stop on the highway to hell and Blacksburg is as hospitable as grandma's house. In truth Blacksburg is pretty nasty too, and WVU and VT have a very rough history. The rivalry game between us was actually stopped by VT because it was getting too venomous, Beamer claimed he didn't feel "safe" in Morgantown, in truth WVU had always been playing catch up to VT and "coincidentally" when we started putting a better team then Tech on the field they didn't want to play anymore. If we were still their whipping boy the Black Diamond Trophy would still be played for.

I like LSU, I really enjoy the SEC experience, it's unmatched in college football. As far as the game goes, I feel like it cold be rough for us, aside from being Death Valley, at night, our O-Line is garbage and (I haven't followed you this year) I always remember LSU having athletic linemen and line backers who water at the mouth over stuff like that. I hope i'm wrong, but I think you're all def the favorites by a bunch.

Students always seem to be the exception. I understand youthful exuberance but you can carry it too far. I work the LSU student section at games and it can be trying at times...even among themselves much less opposing fans. Usually a stare down from me takes care of it but sometimes you have to get involved. I don't like showing anyone the door so I'll let a lot of things go as long as there is an understanding that it doesn't escalate. Last night was the 1st night I thought I was going to have to toss a girl.

Miss St fans in my section were very respectful...probably some self preservation involved but aside from some spirited "Tiger Bait"s they could enjoy the game. A guy with boxed seats invited 3 State student fans to sit with him when there was a discrepancy in their seats. For the most part LSU fans are very hospitable.

Like oranges? I seem to recall a game in the 80's where many were throwing these in TS.

Our governor didnt grab the mic and tell the fans to chill out it was our head Bball coach, Bob Huggins.

Someone that is not very intelligent threw something (im thinking a quarter) and hit an assistant coach.

Our fans can be rowdy and have extreme potty mouths.

Ours too. Our student section has influenced our band's play selection because of it. :hihi:
