not everyone can go to games, so i will never knock a fan for not being there. but if you're gonna show up, SHOW UP. no excuses for the crap crowd last night. even in some of our sh!ttiest seasons, i've never seen a crowd check out like that in a game where the outcome was still not decided. hell, they never even gave a big "OOOH" on any of the times Geno Smith got rocked. the 12,000 people who stuck around for the Troy game in '08 was noticeably louder than the 60,000 that stuck around last night.
let me rephrase. Ridley was running like a beast. he would get a 1st down, band would play 1st down tune...a few people would try, and by a few, i mean you could probably count them without really trying.
The piss poor offensive coaching is draining on the fans. You can feel it. It's been happening for several years now. Fans can only get jacked up so many times for a hand-off up the gut while so many talented players are left out of the game. Watching Jefferson drop back, brain freeze and then scramble for a short gain or loss gets very old, very quick. The fans are paying a LOT of money to watch grown men who make a LOT of money do such a crappy job. The blue collar rowdy fan has been priced out. People predicted this years ago when LSU started jacking up prices.
I did say something when the fans wouldn't do the wave about needing to bring them some prune juice and a cane so they could actually partake in it.
I was there until the clock was down to 0:00 and made plenty of noise. The fans in my area weren't real excited due to play calling and the play of Jordan Jefferson. The fans made more noise on defense and special teams but just not much to cheer for on offense. One other thing...another year, another horrible traffic plan by the police. If people can't get off the campus without being stuck in traffic...many are going to leave early.
LSU Fans need to stop being critics and start being fans again. It's one thing to complain on a message board, it's another thing to embarrass our football program and our tradition on national TV. Pretty soon the fans will be our worst own enemy, leaving game after game and lowering morale for our team. What a sad state of LSU fanhood that we feel so entitled to so much...
I was at the game, yelling for the majority of it, and stayed until the final whistle. I did notice that it was a much quieter environment than what I'm accustomed to in Death Valley. I also felt that in the section I was in no one really wanted to make any noise, and to be honest, while the offense was on and throughout the game in general, it took a lot of self-motivation to want to scream. I felt sorry for the WVU fans because I don't feel they got an adequate representation of a true Tiger Stadium experience. I hated the booing, but it was very frustrating watching our offense gain 4-6 yards and then punt while running the same plays that never seem to work.
another thing, when Lee came into the game, the crowd got loud again. while i understand the excitement, you supposed to shut up when OUR offense has broken the huddle and is trying to get a play off. :hihi:
