I still don't understand why we would go after anyone before Franklin. Just because you can win at Houston or Memphis doesn't mean you can win in the SEC. But if you can make Vandy competitive in the SEC, you can win in the SEC with LSU.

 

Not impressed with what he's done at Penn St, but he did step into a difficult situation.

I don't necessarily want Mullen but we could definitely do worse. Not to mention that he has really only been able to win with Louisiana players. As far as beating Bama, IMO the only teams in the west with enough talent to consistently compete with Bama is LSU and Auburn. The rest simply do not recruit well enough on a yearly basis.
