    wow sounds terrible.

yet, that is just coaching dumb football.

of course you kneel it.. I dont know what going for it really proves?

but, what we were talking about was if you are up a couple touchdowns in the 3rd and 4th quarter, do you cont to have your 1st stringers in and run up the score, OR do you put in the 2nd and third stringers in and run the clock out?

If its florida, auburn or ole miss.... I say go for the jugular.. (that is if you are up considerably)

it's more of an 'in your face' to a team if you put the 2nd and 3rd stringers in there and they keep wailing on 'em.

Texas in the second half and Ohio St at the start of the first quarter. :hihi:

Personally, I see no need to keep putting bunches of points on the board vs any team if the game is well in hand in the fourth quarter.(35 points or more).

Running up the score, which I would LOVE, does have its consequences.

As much as we would LOVE (especially MYSELF) to keep scoring, imagine us if we had a starter hurt when up by 40 points in the 2nd half.

    So....it goes both ways

I definetly agree with you, however as with any argument you have two sides. I would love LSU to run up the score on some rival teams, but if that costs LSU an injury while were up 40+ points? please, thats just dumb...you have to play smart football...

    two factors here:
    1. what the fans want to see (large score)
    2. what the players and coaches want to do (good clean, safe, productive game)...

two similar views is of course WINNING. but the bottom line is, why risk your players health just for a big win?

just ask ben wilkerson/nick saban if it was worth it???

Hopefully, our 2nd & 3rd string offense will be good enough to continue to run up the score & we won't have to have to risk injuries to first string players for that. :hihi:

Score should only dictate when the subs are inserted, not how hard they play. Lopsided victories are simply an indication that one team's second string is better than the other team's first unit. 25 points is the line to begin wholesale substitutions. On a winning day, player development is more important to a good coach than touchdowns.

Unfortunately, how well USC does against Arkansas this year will be measured against how SEC opponents do against Arkansas.

I hope Houston Nutt doesn't scuttle the ship for the SEC this year.

Auburn, getting shut out by USC two years ago, opened the flood gates to the USC media bias.
