Spurrier had it right. Run it up. The polls have taken sportsmanship out of the game.

It would be real nice to run up the score on some teams for a change.
Not really talking about the rent a win teams either.
Nothing would ever make me happier than paying back the Gators for all of
those times they ran the score up on us.

The Auburn game in 03 was the only one I remember, in the SEC anyway,
Miss St was so bad they didn't count! :hihi:

I still remember that Kentucky game with DiNardo at the helm.
LSU had something like 700 yards of offense if I remember right.
I will never forget that game.

One more thing, Fightin Tiger brought up a good point on another thread.
Maybe we should run up the score to let the younger players get more playing time
because next year we will lose quite a few starters.

    "If possible of course!"

I hope Les runs up the score every damn week.

If the teams can't stop us, screw them.

    I think he would.

I've said for months that, in my opinion, one reason why Auburn couldn't overtake Oklahoma down the stretch is OU had wins with larger margins of victory than did Auburn.

Yeah, you can say margin of victory "doesn't count" in BCS calculations.

Whatever. Tell that to the voters.

I think, especially with a contending team, Les wouldn't call off the dogs. I forget who said it, but I've heard that a prominent coach once said, "It's not my job to stop my guys from scoring. It's the other team's job to stop them", or something like that.

    Sounds about right to me.

That would be sweet, just like crushing the Gators in Florida Field three years ago was sweet!

What I do not want to see is the second and third string offenses come in late in games and just run the ball over and over. I'd like to see those kids run the offense as normal. If it's 50/50 runs/passes as Les says it will be then that's what those kids should be doing late in games.

A lot of the games over the past few years, Saban called of the dogs really early and some games were much closer than they would have been. Hopefully Les will have the backup qb's "let 'er rip" late in games when/if they get to come in.

    hah sweet...

Seriously though... people dwell on "I think LSU won by too much.."

Are you kidding me? I believe that LSU should take on a different philosophy.

A survival of the fittest type mindset. Destroy everything in the path of victory. Show no mercy.

but have some common sense about it.. should we put players in harms way if were winning 70-0? no, sense tells you to stick in your 2nd and 3rd stringers...there is a fine line between class and no class...

But I say everyone in the SEC is fair game for an asswhooping...

its karma... There are some teams that just have it coming..

hah, maybe I DO have a military mindset... hahaha...
