That was a bad one no doubt. We expected it though under Hallman.....maybe not as bad as we got it, but somewhere close ya know? The 88 Miami game, we were ranked high....and it stormed like a typhoon.
The easy winner for me here is the 94 Auburn game. I was in the middle of the AU student section at Jordan-Hare acting like a maniac for 3 quarters. Seriously, if not for the group of Auburn students I came with, I think I would have been killed. 3 interceptions, 3 touchdowns, and 1 quarter later, I had Auburn students telling me how bad they felt for me because of our coach's wonderful decision to keep throwing the ball - to the other team. :dis: :dis: :dis: I still have nightmares.
Oh man...there is no way I could EVER dated anyone without an allegiance to the Tigers. Even though my wife is indifferent when it comes to sports I still have trouble after loses and she isn't even trying to rub it in. I guess it's just the feigned disapointment she has when they lose...but I still love her so...:grin:
This one may not be the worse loss I have seen the tigers in....but it sure was a disappointing one. Must have been around 25 yrs ago. LSU/TULANE...At TS...Night game...Tulane in green...LSU in proud white. I have never seen it rain any harder than it rained that night. I almost went back home, but told the son that was with me that night, "what the heck..we are already wet." It flooded the whole game. I had on a brand new western hat (cowboy hat for you rednecks), and a fine coat with wool lining. The one hundred and something dollar (a bunch at the time) hat was black. By games end, so was the wool lining on that coat. Anyway, the TU players were going crazy by the later part of the 4th. Waving towels, getting their crowd pumped up even more. Game over...Toolame wins.....My son and I just kept sitting there after the game watching all the fights......I had no dog in this fight, but the fistfights I saw were well worth the price of admission. I've been to golden gloves events and didn't see that much action..........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
