I never thought Woody should have been on that 1st and 10 segment with Skip Bayless anyway. Woody was already on Around the Horn, so he was overkill. They totally missed out on pairing Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith. They are great together. Instead they decide to give Stephen A. his own show with Quite Frankly, which is quite frankly not very good. As opinionated as Smith is, his interviews come off as "uncomfortable" as he would probably like to ask more hard hitting questions, but has to be "nice" to his guests. It doesn't work.
Quite frankly, Stephen A. Smith just comes across as an angry black man mad at the world. I can't stomach watching any of his commentary, mainly because he's so angry all the time.
His show is indeed terrible. I was optimistic about it, until I watched an episode and momentarily confused him with Magic Johnson. HOWEVER :hihi: Stephen A. during the NBA Draft is freaking hilarious. I think he's best with the NBA in general, but the draft analysis just cracks me up. Especially since I generally don't give two chits about the players or teams involved (couple of exceptions, of course.) Michael Smith, on ATH, is among the best analysts out there. I like ATH, but only w/ Tivo so I can fast forward through some of the segments. I don't know how somebody wouldn't like Riali.
Agree for the most part. I like Mike Patrick. He's pretty good. Nail on the head with Berman. I thought I was the only one who could put up with Corso. He's credible in my opinion because I genuinely think he believes what he says; even though he's wrong most of the time. Herbstreit is a company man and Big 10 honk, so he's biased with an agenda. I don't watch too much baseball. What's the problem with Morgan?
his defense of Steroids Bonds made me roll off the bandwagon. Stuart Scott annoys the hell out of me tho. its one thing to try and have a "hip" guy, but when the "hip" guy is 10 years behind the times and sounds like your dad trying to sound cool its beyond ridiculous.
I liked woody page and I am generally entertained with the whole slew of ESPN punditry. The one who has gotten under my skin a little is Herbstreit and the view that the Big 10 and ND is the center of the football universe. He and Musberger (who I also like) were totally selling ND in the Rose Bowl, which would be a tragedy. Bad for college football. Who in their right mind wants to see a non-competetive game repeated? I hate notre dame so much i don't even want to see them get beat. I want to hear about it after it is over.
