It's quite common in the big leagues. So far the Yankees have had a lot of games rained out that will have to be made up later with doubleheaders. Unlike softball there is no crying in baseball.
Nice spin but do you see the thread title? We're talking College and it's not common. In fact, it's very rare- despite the fact there are umpteen pitchers on the roster. I'm not going there again.

Today the Wash catcher took a hit from a ball off the bat. Hit her where she had no protection.
Gangsta tag...but you're supposed to slide. Can't blame the catcher.
You don't have to slide but you do have to avoid collision. She WAS sliding though.
clean, I'd say,....it was a critical play that led to our doom,.. the ball actually hit the runner's hand, which is why our catcher missed it. Just damn bad luck.
