It's really easy. They priced it out of the real fans ability to go. Combined with TV being a better experience with not having to deal with horrible traffic, long lines, etc and most people who would watch the entire game choose to stay home. Now all you have are debutants who view going to Tiger Stadium like going to horse races and leave before traffic gets bad.
We've been talking about this for almost 10 years now. People just don't stay anymore. Some of it might be traffic. Some of it might be just really caring about seeing it through. Our team kinda went home after the first half, so...
I think about what it was like when I was a kid going to Death Valley in the 80's and 90's all the time. LSU sucked, but it didn't matter. Tiger Stadium was always the most intimidating place for opponents to play. It's amazing to me what time, success, and money does.
And then you have vile pieces of shit who things like this. http://lsu.247sports.com/Bolt/Repor...death-threat-after-loss-to-Wisconsin-47524665 Look, I like Miles the man, don't think he is ever going to win another championship at LSU, but to send death threats and racial comments about Brandon Harris really is unacceptable, and people like this are a stain on our community.
LSU -USC in '79 was a religious experience . Yeah yeah LSU lost but I can still see USC players turned toward stands watching fans go nuts with expression of WTF written all over their faces.
Our schools, health care, judicial system, hell, probably your local barber aren't the same . Everything, even fan bases change.
