Respectfully, I don't agree we you. Schools like Troy & ASU will use their best players when going up against more talented schools. We even use some starters & 2nd teamers on kick coverage. Kick coverage is a big part of the game & most teams will put their best headhunters on the team. But if your theory is correct, how do you explain these numbers. ASU GAme Carter - 1 return / 42 yards Addai - 1 return / 15 yards Troy Game Carter - 2 returns / 60 yards Addai - 1 return / 21 yards Skyler on punt returns @ Troy - 4 returns / 6 yards Also, take away Skler & Addai's top 2 returns & let's compare averages. Also, remember that 1 yard kneel down counted as a return for X. X is not a downgrade from Green & Addai!
I look at it this way, why bench Carter after kneeling on the 1 yard line. Think about it, after doing that, he will NEVER do that again. NEVER.
