I am not sure how we will fare out of conference...but we def. have tons of young talent out there, which will cost the SEC a few games, but will be exciting to watch. In a couple of years, the SEC will be incredible. Still the best conference. I think Kentucky could suprise a few people. They will not win a ton of games, but will have more fight in 'em. They have had pretty good recruiting classes for their standards.
That doesn't make much sense, considering that their schedule will be easier - so even if they are just as good as last year (no better or worse), then their record should be improved.
I'll be excited to watch the offenses develop this coming season & for the future in the SEC. We could become an even more dominant league with the infusion of offensive minds that we've been having recently.
Ummm, no. I considered LSU a better team last season, and I consider them to be a slightly better team this season. So, LSU is about the same, and Auburn is slightly improved. I expect AU to go 10-2 this season, with an outside stretch at 11-1 if a few lucky "boinks" go their way
I won't have my numbers right here 'cuz I'm doing it from memory... which in my case is scary.... but it would help the SEC, also, if they beat Pac 10 teams when they played 'em. You guys have done the best job, handling Oregon State and ASU in close games... but the rest of the conference? The media "portraying" the conference as down has much to do with your OOC games... and when one sees Tenn losing at home to a pretty bad ND team two years ago, Ark getting pounded by USC, Bama losing at home to NIU, Maine winning at MSU, Ole Miss losing twice to both Memphis and Wyoming, Zook's problems at Florida.... yeah, they may think something's amiss. Don't get me wrong, we have the same media problem in the Big Ten. When our conference doesn't "show up" in it's OOC games, we're DOWN! It's life in the big leagues. Trying to judge a league once they're in conference play is pretty difficult, as I've yet to see a conference that doesn't finish .500 in league play!!!!
I expect AU to be 10-2 this year in the regular season. same as last year. the team might be better bu ti still expect them to slip up 2 games.
DE: Marquis Gunn, has already been named to some pre-season All-SEC 1st team defenses. Also at DE and have been named to some pre-season All-SEC 1st team defenses is Quentin Groves who was also named to the Hendricks Award watch list which is given to the best DE in the country. King Dunlap will start at LT and has had alot of game experience. If it means anything, he was named one of the best top ten players on AU's football team by collegefootballnews.com
Auburn has too many questions to not drop 2-3 games. The talent filling the crucial positions is really good, but unproven. Experience is talked about a lot, but for most players it is a really big deal.
