It helps us in peoples minds the most if we win. It would justifymoving us to #2.

But we still have some business to take care of. But isnt it nice to be talking about this really late in the season.

Its great being a Tiger Fan.

Michigan and Ohio State is considered the de facto Big Ten Championship game, so expect OSU if it wins to get a boost in the human polls.

Don't forget if LSU loses the SECCG it will hurt big time. I really think a SECCG game can backfire more than it can help if a big ten or Pac Ten team finishes undefeated and a 1 loss or undefeated SEC team loses to a 2 loss team.

But, this season if OSU wins they will be in the sugar bowl. Don't forget that OU could lose the big 12 championship game and USC could lose a game.

But today's Ohio St/Mich game is not a real CG, not in the same way the SEC title game and Big 12 title games are. Which are games added to the 12 game regular season. LSU and Okla will have to play 1 extra game, over SC and Ohio St. This game today is a scheduled regular season matchup. However, b/c of the nature of college football (not having a playoff system), it has a CG feel and the outcome is like a CG game.

I totally agree with you on the SECCG hurting us over the PAC and Big 10 teams who finish undefeated or with one loss. The sad thing about all of this is that Okla could possibly lose the Big 12 CG and still make the national title game, according to the experts this morning.

All that said . . . this is why college football is much better than the NFL and it's regular season is much more enjoyable and exciting. For 3 months we have been treated to playoff like games, and today we are seeing what boils down to true playoff style games with meaning. So much can happen today, right now Ohio St is down two TDs. No outcome today is totally locked, anything can happen on the field.

Geaux Tigers! Take care of business in Oxford and let the rest take care of itself.

I agree with you LSUfan but its totally unfair to have some
conferences playing a championship game and others not.

I think this is wrong and should change to have all conferences
either have a championship game or not.

Sourdoughman, I agree completely. I don't mind not having a playoff, actually I'm against it. All BCS conferences should be forced to adopt an extra title game. That way, everyone is happy. Playoff fans get a mini playoff week, and we still get to keep the bowls intact.

Most of the time the conference title games will match up most of the top 10, and that will weed out any teams that experts and fans question their schedule or multi-losses.

But getting the PAC 10 and Big 10 (or any other BCS conference) to adopt a title game will be impossible. We have a better chance of seeing a non BCS conference team play a BCS bowl game before we see that happen. The only good thing about it, is that we might benifit from playing in the SEC Title game, giving us an advantage over a Ohio St or SC team that will not have a chance to play an extra game, thus allowing LSU to improve it's chances at the Sugar.
