Even further proof of how short of an attention span some people have. Carroll was an average at best NFL coach. His record is 33-31 so far with a 1-1 playoff record. What makes people think he will suddenly be a great NFL coach now? What makes people think he would want to go back? Hell he has (yes Im saying this...) a great job now. USC has a great history, they can get recruits thanks to recent success and location (among other things), they are loved by the media, and they have a large fan base. He also has proven beyond any shadow of a doubt that he is a very good college football coach. Now is it possible that he will go to NFL soon? Yes. But lets be honest here, if you were not rasied an LSU fan, were born in California and have already spent time in the NFL as a head coach would you want to go back? Id be willing to bet that the answer is a resounding "no". Now let me go ahead and add here that I despise USC (not neccesarrily the fans) and PC. We havent played them in a long time (before I was born Im sure) and I cannot stand to see them win, so Im just trying to look at this thing logically. I believe he will stay at USC because of that.
But if you did that, I wouldn't be able to understand either. I speak French, d'accord? This will be tres horrible mais, je croix que je serais dans New Orleans a Janvier. You get the drift.
And we will be gladly waiting for your Trojans, nothing better than an a$$whooping of USC in a NC game:lol:
Gladly? Wow. I'm impressed. I'll even bring you a Charger's shirt. Make sure you tell me where ya'll tailgate so's I can come by and say hello. :thumb: I gotta say though, there are a few things that rate a lil' better than that.
Make that a Raiders shirt, after all, I'll unfortunately become one of their fans when Russell goes there. Not for me, nothing better than a whooping that should've happened 4 years ago!! Under that category, I should include: - A blowout. - Booty getting owned (by that I mean 5+ sacks, 3 INTs:hihi: ) - McKnight crying on national TV after the game wishing he would have gone to LSU so he could get one of those rings. - Keiland Williams putting a hurting on 2 or more defensive backs (like the one Addai put on the Miami guy:hihi: ) -Anyone wants to suggest something? maybe Saban (after a 6-6 season and a bowl loss) taking credit of LSU's second NC and blaming poor Shula for the bad season.
I can appreciate your wish list. I won't post mine in an attempt to avoid getting verbally bashed and ultimately banned. :hihi: On the other hand, I was suggesting something outside football, like, say............skydiving?
I just read this on Yahoo! sports. Southern Cal head coach Pete Carroll has not been contacted by the San Diego Chargers about their coaching vacancy. Through a spokesman, Carroll said, "I have nothing for you. I'm not talking about it." Carroll, who coached the New York Jets and New England Patriots during the 1990s, has said in the past he would want control of personnel decisions if he were to return to the NFL. That control is not going to happen in San Diego with A. J. Smith as general manager. Source: San Diego Union-Tribune Related: San Diego Chargers
I don't know how Yahoo sites it's sources but it was no spokesman for PC. The comment was given directly to Scott Wolf of the Daily News, a nefarious writer known for "lean in" journalism and National Enquirer type spin. The comment taken at face value seems to indicate no story is there, however taken literally, it doesn't completely exclude the possbility. Some believe the comment to be more accurate if you place the emphasis on YOU......a slight directed to Wolf. As a side note, Wolf is reporting that Mustain has spent a majority of his visit to SC with Damien Williams, his former WR and currently enrolled at SC. Wolf is also reporting 2 different sources (lean in) claiming Mustain is going to be a Trojan.
