ive had it both ways. i dont like it making my gumbo less hot. its a nogo for me on a couple levels. i dont want it murkying my shit up either.

Ever tried Autin's gumbo mix? Autin's is a powder and make's a fast, clean, tasty gumbo. Trust me.

I had never heard of potato salad in gumbo until somebody mentioned it on this forum. I don't think I've ever been served potato salad as a side dish with gumbo but if you put it in a separate dish I would eat it. NEVER IN MY GUMBO!
