The problem with SC is Clemson.
Clemson is THE power in South Carolina that recruits look to. The Gamecocks are relegated to getting Clemson's cast offs.
To succeed at USCe, you need to be able to recruit out of state. Ain't no fence SC can build there.
The only time South Carolina is anywhere near relevant is when Clemson's program sucks...it'll be a while before that happens again.

If I recall, and I may not, SC bailed on the ACC due to something basketball related. They used to be pretty good.

I think the real problem with SC is Columbia. Surrounded by sand, unusually hot, Just not a place you’d want to go. Plus their bbq sauce is mustard based. Mustard!

Yep, and with that schedule there's no way they will win more than maybe 8 games a year. They play GA, Bama, Florida and Clemson every year. They also have four games scheduled every year they should win. The problem is they are losing all the games that could/should go either way (UNC, Mizzou, Tenn., etc). His buy out is $22mil, 18Mil after the season. Not sure they have or can spend that much.

I do likes me some Carolina BBQ sauce when it is done right. There was a rib place in Baltimore not far from my office that had a Carolina sauce that would knock your socks off...it had some sauteed jalapenos in it to kick up the heat to just the right level.

Wish they were still in business. It's hard being in a city where they think steamed crabs are superior to a proper crab boil. That was one place I took solace in...for some reason the good BBQ places in Charm City all go under.

Jack Millers, all the way. I lost my taste for the super sweet stuff long time ago.

I like the taste of Jack Miller's but it's too watery.
