living in columbus and working in toledo once a month, i do communicate with many michigan fans and the general concensus is that michigan will mortgage off ford, and gm to land miles. they loved they way he recruits which is something carr hasn't been able to do heck we took a recruit out of michigan. i think he knows hr could be a legend here as well as mich, but i think miles will end up in Ann Arbor next year. i hope i am wrong, but if it happens lsu could practically get bill belachek(sp), if we make a run.
When or If Michigan comes calling I really hope CLM chooses to stay with LSU. I really like him as the Tiger HC. He is all business and he brought in good asst. coaches. I appreciate the way he took over at LSU. If he does decide to leave I will have nothing bad to say about the man, everyone knew he was always a Michigan guy. LSU will move along just fine (as long as skip does not hire Coach TATER TOTT!
Here's a reason he will leave, courtesy of Keith Jackson: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTSvbv9uLlY I think that Michigan job is very tempting: 1. Great big guaranteed paycheck 2. Nationally named school that can help you recruit anywhere 3. A program that demands national attention year in and year out, and only has to win a few key games (ND, Penn State, and OSU) to make it to the National Championship Game 4. Family, blood, whatever, you never forget people who got you where you are today
I think we oughta kick all of these questions about Miles/Michigan to the curb until January. It's obvious he won't talk about it and Michigan isn't going to hang Carr out to dry by contacting coaches this early...or do it publically anyway. So all we have now is hearsay and rumor...not worth the breath to discuss it IMO.
i'm just curious. why are we indulging this thread. CLM doesn't want to discuss it. he wants to focus on the next game only. i can see us looking a little further ahead than that. all this "CLM to michigan" talk is demoralizing and depressing. we should let it rest, and talk about when CLM is ready to discuss it. let's look at ourselves as an extension of his Tiger team and be cooperative on the michigan thing. just my opinion.
this same conversation would work. there's just so many if's. yes it's a possibility. and yes it is true we can do absolutely nothing about it if it occurs (unless of course it's a money thing). i just feel like so many are trying to second guess what CLM will do if the opportunity arises, and i feel like it's only an issue at this time because ESPN constantly brings it up verbally and in writing. they've created a mini-media-frenzy over it. if we're gonna go with if's, let's go with a different spin on the if's and the hype. what if michigan wasn't even interested in CLM until they heard it on ESPN? what if CLM believes in what he's doing here and has every intention of staying, knowing that michigan will be there if and when he's decides it's what is right for him and his family? what if none of this really matters in the long run because even if he does leave, we and our beloved Tigers will survive to play another day, recruit the good class, and move on to more national championships without him? dammit, bhelm, you've got me indulging the thread whose indulgement i questioned. uncle.
i pulled this from the "Terry Bowden Wants to Be LSU's Next Coach" thread. It's all about this thread's topic.
