Regardless, LSU's offense has struggled with fast defenses (e.g. Tulane, UF, UK) which have the overall defensive speed to largely contain Holliday's speed threat ...... but his size is a liability, IMHO.

Against defenses with fast linebackers, the DC can afford to risk shooting the gaps because the LB's can get away with arm-tackling Holliday. Against bigger, more physical backs, the defensive LB's are more hesitant to commit to their gap responsibilities too early.

you clearly havent watched or noticed Holiday's YPC average. go study then come back. it wasnt holiday its the LOS. regardless of how big your backs are you have to control the LOS. We did not do that.

Maui, you are pretty much on target there. It almost appeared that the RBs in the OT period had determined from the handoff to run straight ahead and try to run over someone. Hester is better at that than some of the others.

I still have the impression, mistaken though it may be, that if Scott and Williams and Murphy had been given more carries the game would have played out in our favor. But that's just my opinion; I could be wrong. (Apologies to Dennis Miller for stealing his line.):eek:ldskule:

Whoever said "it's a games of inches" was spot on. Just a few feet to the left on those runs, just a few feet to the right on the kick. Just a few more feet on that throw to LA(it)Fell by Flynn, just close your hands on the ball Zinger...........Man, so close.

You're actually supporting my point, racing. Opposing LB's aren't afraid to risk shooting the line gaps because they recognize that an arm tackle is "good enough" to bring down a smallish back. Hard to control LOS when you're being overrun ....

Oh, and if you really want a stat to "study," take a look at YAC instead of YPC. Respect is earned by force in the SEC ..... and LSU fans should recognize that better than any other fanbase.

You are spot on there... if he's in the game, he's getting the ball. Holliday should be used as decoy at least occasionally.

It is called surprise they catch on to what we do then stop it . That was all we had on offense , was a hot shot running game . PR came in they knew he would not pass he could do nothing . You know that , he has to have someone that even looks like someone he can throw the ball to . We don't have anyone that can catch the ball . Is there a walk on in a Math class that played HS ball that can catch a ball ?? If it is you need to hand walk him to the coaches !! Right now we are looking at maybe losing the rest of the games unless we find a passing game ! We need the down field 5 to 10 yards passing game .We have the running game son we have the great backs < They are going to be fun to watch !! Wonder if they can catch a football ?
Every team we play will line up almost 9 on the line , watch them , all we need is a 5 or 7 yard pass !!

Wow, please step away from the ledge. It's just a loss, it's not the end of the world. The offense really misses Doucet in the passing game and it's looking more and more like he will be back this week. Calm down... it's going to be okay.

Keiland is our best "runner" period.
