If crowton is here he will want to run the option shiz. With this being said ,jj will start and we will see the same plays next year as we have seen this year. Crowton wants to run the same offense as auburn does but jj is no cam. Crowton will have the want to prove that his spread option is a success. Mett may play in jl's place but if crowton is here he will need jj to run his style of offense. That is why I say jj wil start and play most snaps. If miles wants to run a pro offense with mett as qb then crowton must go. Crowton won't change his offense he has worked on for 3 years. I hope I'm wrong and everyone can force feed me crow but I don't see crowton changing. He will feel since jj will be a senior that things will be diffrent. Jj is not a sec qb and crowton will not change his offense to fit mett. We have seen that crowton tries to change players to fit his scheme not playing to the strengths of what his players can do best.
About 4 games into this season, I was thinking Miles was a stubborn fool for not playing Lee. My logic was that he had to be better than JJ. Turns out, I was wrong and Miles had a pretty good reason. Thus, I am hopeful that the best QB will start next year. Gotta believe that will be Mett. And yes, I am going to believe this until the start of next season. No reason to ruin my summer!
Counting the Cotton Bowl, JJ will have started 26-27 games and is still one of the worst D-1 QBs in the nation. We haven't seen marked improvement over the last two years and it's doubtful there will be some epiphany on his behalf so I'm hopeful Mettenberger is all we hope he is. It would be unfair to put too much pressure on him but there have been many QBs who were younger and with far less experience than him who have done well in their first year. I just can't take another year of a non-existent offense.
I dont think people understand how terrible our QB play was... Throw in the fact that our only two losses, came against the two most NFL ready QB prospects in the world. Seriously, nobody can do what Cam Newton can do... And no other QB in the country can sling it like Mallet... LSU was a mediocre QB away from being undefeated... Problem is, we had terrible play from the QB position... And as it stands, our QB situation went from terrible to fantastic.. I repeat, 4 TD,s and 9 INTS, in 12 games... That has to be some kind of record... Has their ever been a top 10 BCS team whose starting QB threw only 4 TD's in a full seasons worth of work. I mean seriously guys.... I'd be embarrassed to tell someone that I was a QB with numbers like that.. And Jefferson, nor Miles, nor GC could look and Tiger fan or alumn in the face and say that JJ or JL has the starting job secured.... The numbers don't back him up, at all... And to those who hate on Les... You have to respect what he's done with his QB debacle. RP was a disfunctional super talent... Zach Lee got paid millions to play baseball (can't blame the kid).... Losing two great QB prospects in a 3 years span could be crippling to most programs.. Yet, Les did what he had to do, and brought in another top flight signal caller. Call me what you want.... But when I got the word that Mettenberg signed on, it was as sweet as hearing that we won our third, (and fourth) BCS title(s)....:crystal:  Which now I am most certain we will... And i'm sure that nobody danced and smiled more than Rueban Randle, Russell Shepard and D Peterson after ZM's announcement. P.S. I'm willing to bet that ZM tops JJ's season touchdown total, by the second half of the second game... Any takers.... :geaux:
i think he's basing this on seeing our other QB's play. the best QB will start next year. if that's ZM, and i believe it will be, then he will be the starter. AU turns over next year, but bama and UF will improve (i hope mccaron effing falls apart though with saban). mett will have 9 mos to learn the offense, an offense that more and more i think will be run by gary crowton :rolleye33:. i'm hanging my hopes and trying to stay optimistic that mett will be a good QB and what crowton did the last time he had a good QB. lastly, i was critical of miles of playing guys like justin vincent and being loyal to upperclassmen and such but that was not the case on D this year. it's possible chavis runs his own show (actually it's like 99% probable) and miles may dabble a little in the offense (i still think it's about 95% crowton) but i guess we'll see. having oregon first next year will be a blessing/curse.
"Also, Mettenberger is yet to prove himself in a game time situation against SEC quality opposition" Not 100% true. In the UGA spring game he passed for 150 and two 2 TD's with limited action. Ok it was a spring game, no blitzing etc. But look at Jeffersons stats in our spring game which was even MORE controlled and look at Mett's and tell me which one looks better.
anyone see the first pass he threw in that video (the one in the other thread)? absolutely beautiful. Georgia fans would tell you that he was really making a push for that starting job in practice last year. That's good because I wouldn't mind having Aaron Murray either.
