Mettenberger will start. He's been told that he will start. It's the reason he came here.

Lee will transfer. Les will never give him a fair shake here and he knows it now.

Jefferson will transfer if he wants to keep playing quarterback. Or he will change positions if he has dreams of an NFL career. The guy is a prototype tight end if he adds 25 pounds.

They'll stick with Jefferson...at the very least in the two QB rotation as mentioned above. Dammit.

Crowton will still be here. Double-Dammit.

And he likes QBs with wheels. Mettenberger is ill-suited for our offense. Even more Dammit.

We won't see him do any real damage until Crowton is gone...assuming we get an OC with some common sense.

    Dammit.

Nobody wants to be a senior quarterback sitting on the bench. Both of these guys can start at an FCS school.

    A fair shake ???
Really I think he did have plenty of "shakes" I like the kid, I think he has character and moxie but I am sorry, he had flashes of brilliance but for the most part he had plenty of chances and he just is not very good, borderline pretty bad. Jefferson is awful and he beat him out and dont tell me Miles is an idiot. He is in practice every day. That is the deal on Mettenberger. if he cannot beat out those guys then he isnt the savior we hoped.

Also I would be EXTREMELY disappointed if Miles "Promised" he would start. I hope he didnt, yes JJ is not a very good QB, also Like JJ, but Mettenberger has to EARN the respect of his teammates and earn his role.

Lee is not going to the NFL. Why would he POSSIBLY transfer. For what to play football one year at Sam Houston State ? Or finish his degree at LSU and join the real world.

Lastly assuming Mettenberger DOES win the starting role fair and square. We are one hit away from needing JJ and Lee again.

He could go to his home town and play at the same school Cam Newton did.

Sure he could but why would he ?
Whats the point. At the end of the day he walks out with a Degree from a pretty good school, or he can transfer to some small podunk U so he can play football for a year.
It would be insane at this point for him to do this. He is NOT going to need to showcase his "talents" he has already done that against the best, and well didnt fare to well.

He would be wise to look at Matt Mauck. realize football wont be the rest of my life and finish his degree maybe go to grad school with all the money he saved getting a free ride, become a doctor marry a hot chick, and tell his kids about the years he played College football. 10 time better than most life stories.

Most importantly tell his kids about the time he beat the Florida with a great TD pass, or when he had the stones to complete a long pass on 3rd down to beat Bama.

Matter of fact all these people feeling sorry for him, shouldnt he has had a life most would dream of up to this point.
Sure I am sure he is a competitor and wants to be under center I get that. Football has been his life, but I am sure he is a smart kid and will realize maybe this is the end of the road for football (Like it was for 99.9 percent of us at an early age) and take his degree, go to grad school and make tons of money in the private sector.

Or he could transfer to East Texas State (if that even exists anymore) and play 10 games of DII football against just above high school level football.

But I dont know this kid anymore than I know Sam Bradford, so I am just speculating.

Him playing 1 year of football against the likes of McNeese State or La Tech are NOT going to all of a sudden make him an NFL QB.
Wait, he has done that already with an SEC WR crew and well, check his stats.... Not so good....

No, get your free degree, say Thank you for the opportunity and get on with his life... With the Hot wife.
