The tolerance, laws and enforcement differ now from state to state. Since it's no worse than alcohol, it should be legal, but with all the stigma that goes with it, I just don't see it.
Yes, but the federal laws are the issue. I believe that those will eventually go away. That's probably a ways away though.
There was a great thread on this right after I joined. I am totally for legalizing weed, and after watching the Wire (Best show ever), actually think legalizing all drugs could be done (Another debate, obviously). The benefits of legalizing, taxing, and controlling drugs outweigh the costs/risks by a landslide. The war on drugs failed; here is some good reading on how. http://www.time.com/time/health/article/0,8599,1821697,00.html http://blogs.reuters.com/great-debate/2008/12/03/einstein-insanity-and-the-war-on-drugs/ I have read some good articles recently that think it might happen sooner than later. Its been a while, but I read that 2-3ish states now don't arrest people for carrying under a certain limit and 15+ legalized medical marijuana. Small steps, but in the right direction! http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/07/30/frank.marijuana/index.html This one compares prohibition and the recession to our current situation. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122843683581681375.html# I guess the real reason I have hope it might happen sooner than later is I just linked some really respectable media outlets, instead of quoting stuff from a High Times magazine.
how bad does marijuana affect you when you're driving. im all for legalizing every drug. i can huff paint if i cant get something legally anyhow. whats the difference.
Makes you really paranoid so you tend to drive like a model citizen! Break cleaner is much better then paint. But serious different crap affects you in different ways. Qualudes, better pull over. Viagra, have a nice drive. Cheech and Chong for example. They smoked a baby's leg but the car never moved. I just don't see the threat on the roads.
It doesn't affect your reflexes, vision, or physical control of the vehicle. But it makes your mind wander and you miss your turn sometimes. We didn't have talking GPS when I was a stoner . . .
