Not really. He finished his first term. Ran for reelection. Got reelected. Finished his second term. And, due to the law, has handed over the office and will now retire to Texas.

More like 15 years in the making.

Well, I've been watching the news coverage of his inauguration ball appearances and I think you can definitely claim his European half . . . the brother cannot dance.

Yeah, and what did they say? As for myself, I haven't met a single person who told me I should be excited or that I should celebrate.

Heya John. Today is the Inauguration Day. You should be out celebrating that we have a new President in the White House. I think you should be excited too.

    Ok see you later.

man, im all for being optimistic here but you surely have induced way too much of the crimson kool-aid. he does represent bama doesnt he?

thats pretty vague. what were his quotes with said vow? politicians govern with politics. not faith or science. this isnt going to change in our lifetime.

oh goodness, i might puke. this is where you're surely confused. the world hated us before and simply hate us a little more now. and it always continues until they need our help. then they just pretend a little better.

    holy smokes--hes suddenly not socialist?

    see above

i could be ok with this. i didnt hate it when he first said it.

al gore's pocketbook would be grateful.

    now you're talking.

unlikely? surely you know a president meeting lets say 10% of his stated goals would be a success.

you're way too emotionally invested to view him objectively, methinks.

as i said, I like the country coming together for a cause, especially if its to make it a better place. lets just hope this means everyone is doing their share and not simply waiting for the president to improve their lives for them.

is everyone who is inspired going to go out and and improve their livelihood/America simply due to obama being in office? seems way too idealistic, doesnt it, but lets see.

sucked is such a relative term. things have been a lot better than most people care to admit/realize but since we have it made here, we fail to see it.

    until that.

im giving the radical muslim turned christian to be elected a chance. I really am.

seriously though, Im worried how obama has proven he believes government to be an answer for the country more than a hindrance. and I do not believe he is a radical; more of a pragmatist, which gives me hope.

and this is key. if he can use his critical thinking skills and surround himself with the most informed people regarding the most important issues, Im going to trust him to make the most prudent and informed decisions.

    for this, I have hope.

I just *pray* he learns less government is better government.

Lol. I see someone has been faithfully listening to Fox News Radio today. I did the same thing, I listened to Rush followed by Hannity. Over and over, they played a clip of some part of the 2 million-strong crowd doing the "na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, good bye" chant. Rush and Hannity were both using this to slam the liberals for being so divisive, and as a jumping off-point for their theory that the liberals are the ones that divide this country. Ann Coulter even came on as a guest and talked about how the most shocking thing was how the crowded booed Bush. But, like Hannity keep saying, you won't see the liberal media talking about all this.

However, you forgot to point out the other themes that Rush and Hannity keep preaching over and over:

    1) Obama's speech didn't work, it wasn't a good speech, it was disappointing, it failed to live up to expectations, even the crowd was disappointed. Obama's speech was not as good as Reagan's speech.

    2) way too much money was spent on the inauguration today, something about the jets being like the jets the CEOs of the Detroit car companies flew or something

    3) the liberal media is trying to make everybody love Obama, we are being manipulated by the leftist agenda and their fear tactics. The only place that is safe for conservatives is Fox News, which is the only media outlet not in love with the liberals. Over and over, Rush and Hannity played this collection of quotes from the liberal media saying positive things about Obama and positive things about today. Do not listen to the liberal media and their lies. Only listen to Fox News Radio.

    4) Obama-mania has become a full-fledged psychological disorder. We can not get caught up in the delusional land of Obama-mania. Like Hannity, we need to see "the Truth," we need to see "Reality." We can't get caught up in the euphoria, the ectasy, the belief that Obama is the Messiah, the belief that Obama just decended from the heavens, that Obama is 'the Anointed One.' We need to remember that the Obama mania that is sweeping the land will destroy our society. It will be very hard to stop the Obama-mania. The liberal media has a love affair with Obama, they are the Obama-mania media.

    5) govt spending is going to be out of control under Obama, the massive deficit will get worse, there will be massive govt interference in your life, and something about welfare

    6) Obama is a socialist. Socialism does not work. Obama is the first socialist president. Socialism will fail. Socialism will be bad for the United States.

    7) Obama is not Reagan

    8) We should not support the new president, and it is a shame to see all the "pseudo-conservatives" in our govt that are congratulating Obama today during the inaugural festivities. Remember, people never gave Bush a chance, remember all those people that didn't support Bush from the beginning, like the liberal media.

    9) Clinton is to blame for everything, things were much worse for Bush when he became President than they are for Obama right now

    10) We should fear and be scared of Obama. People think he is the cure, but he is really worse than the problem.

It is way too early to be passing judgment on the Bush presidency. Historians normally wait 25 years before tackling a person or event because it takes that long to obtain an acceptable degree of objectivity. Truman left the White House with extremely low popularity. Yet today, he is considered one of the better presidents. Bush could end up being the Harry Truman of the 21st century. Time will tell.

Obama has a lot of people excited and optimistic about the future. sometimes that's all it takes, rational or not.

sometimes it's hard to give Obama a fair shake after the relentless Bush bashing. but i try anyway.
