But why are people here so fanatic about the idea that the GOP is "their side." There is nobody here that thinks the Democratic Party is "their side." The only people here that are religious about one party or the other are the GOP disciples. Isn't that odd to you?
Probably because this forum is centered around politics. Btw, Do Christians have some right that says they should be discussed at a certain percentage? John, if you broke down a southern, football based forum what type of demographics do you think you would find?
Thinking is the key word in your post. Most fanatics who blindly follow one party or the other let others do their thinking for them. How about voting for the best individual for the job regardless of which party that person belongs to. Oh wait that would require thinking......never mind.
I'm not completely loyal to the GOP but I'm much more conservative than liberal. I voted Democrat for years and even voted for Bill Clinton. Approximately one month into his first term I realized I had made a mistake. Clinton lied his ass off and turned 180 degrees once in office. I watched eight years of degrading the office and the sick display of Democrats coming to his defense. As every year passed I started to move more across the aisle. Neither "party" is close to ideal but I just can't stand the double standards practiced by the Demo-Crits. I also moved back to Louisiana and started researching our state's history. Almost all of our problems and scandals can been blamed on one party. That party has destroyed this state and continues to do so today. We always hear that it's the party of inclusion and that they have all the answers. Look at Reid and Pelosi. They had a chance to make an impact the past two years but instead focused all their attention on a lame duck president. The Global Warming Party House leader also travels back and forth to California in a huge jet. I bet that won't leave a carbon footprint!
the vast majority of people are not fanatics, on either side. Most can easily switch from their usual party for many reasons. that may be hard for you to believe, being that you're a recovering fanatic. I recommend asking yourself "Who am I?" and then "What do I value?" and finally, "What will Frogleg think of my answers?"
You know what is amazing and problem something you couldnt understand. I assure you 90% of us who you think are GOP zombies. Dont classify themselves as "republicans" or "GOP" for example myself. I am not a republican matter of fact I am dissapointed in Republicans. they have turned their backs on conservatives. GW Bush for example expanded government didnt reduce it. So I know you being a Liberal and heavily influenced by people like Michael Moore want to shoe horn conservative thinkers into a Box and say "GOP", "Racist", "Facist", etc. Its easy because its simple for you. Its actually the quite opposite. I am MORE critical of the GOP then I am of Democrats ? Why. Because Democrats are at least honest about their failed ideology. Most republicans in DC are not true republicans at all. So you would be amazed how most of us are much more critical of the GOP then democrats.
No one should show party loyalty. Neither party represents the people of this country. The parties are the cause of the country's problems. Neither party has ever accomplished much of anything. They exist to drive a wedge between the people and they pander to impressionable fools who think the party somehow cares about them.
John's problem is that he fails at reading comprehension, so his assumptions are less than valid. I assume he still thinks I worship Teblow.
Agree with this post 100%, though here: They are Republicans, solely based on what party affiliation they have the backing of. The problem is that the republican party is not truly conservative anymore, and I think what you meant to say is that most republicans in in DC are not true conservatives. With that I agree 100% and hope this election will cause them to go back to their conservative roots.
