The way I see it... OSU beats UF USC beats Michigan Top 3 ends up 1. OSU 2. LSU 3. USC (maybe, depends on Wisconsin and Louisville)
I strongly agree with your 2nd point. I just don't like to think about FLorida being national champs. And to a certain extent, I agree with your first. I pull for all SEC teams in the bowls (except for the aforementioned Florida) and would pull for the SEC in a national title game except for two teams: Auburn and Florida. And that's because the rivalry between those two schools and LSU has been so heated, that ANY additional benefit either of them could claim over LSU in terms of respect and recruiting is just something that I"m not about to welcome.
As should everyone...unfortunately, not everyone here is very smart (see thread complaining about commercials, or the 734th thread about whether JR will go pro, or the 29392nd thread about whether Miles is any good.)
Wow! There's a lot of passion about Auburn in here. I've really hated them ever since the Cigar incident after that game. It was totally gutless. If they had any guts at all, they would have held the smoker before the game. God punished them with a 2004 Perfect Season snubbing, the perfect payback for all those years and classless acts committed by their imbecile head coach. It doesn't help the SEC's case "IF" the SEC Champ gets there and gets beat. 2003 was a 1-loss LSU playing for the title. LSU won a :crystal: 2004 was AU 0-loss getting robbed  . The SEC screamed foul. 2005 saw no SEC Teams in the final. 2006 has a 1-loss Fla team playing for the title. If Florida wins a :crystal: . Then, 2007 and likely beyond, a 1-loss SEC team will be a lock for playing in the NC. (With the human voters who will believe that an SEC Team can win) Think about it: Hearing all season long until next September (that's a long time) about how great the SEC is and how Florida wasn't even the best team in the SEC at the end of the year (LSU was). The other way around and we have to hear what a great conference the Big 10 (People can't even count). The media will be building up the Fla/LSU game all year long as the college FB game of the Year, this between the two top ranked teams in America, especially if JR stays. I could really enjoy some of this in the offseason! It all starts with a serious thrashing of ND in the Sugar Bowl. 2007 is gonna be a special year, I can see it now. :geauxtige Sugar Bowl :champs: :geauxtige 2007 SEC :champs: and :crystal:
I would definitely take that score for our game. :thumb: As for pulling for Florida, I pull for all SEC teams (even Bama and the Gaytors) in bowl games......ESPECIALLY when playing a team like OSU.:thumb:
It's evident from your post that you wren't present at the game that day. Instead, you're one of the many that choose to get their facts from the local media columnists rather than factual accounts. Regarding Florida ..... I understand what you mean. I have a tough time pulling for Bama - ever, so I amagine it's the same thing. I'll be pulling for Florida because they represent the SEC, but boy I sure do hope their fans are more gracious in victory than they are in defeat. Meyer's Criers were an embarrassment following their loss to Auburn. IMO, LSU's fans had some legitimate gripes following their game with AU, but not Florida. They melted down without any help from Auburn or the officials .... total loss of composure ..... and that's exactly what is going to happen to them against OSU if they fall behind early in the game .... .... and if that happens, then the epic whining from the Gator nation will make them a national laughingstock .... and that's bad for the conference.
