The whole idea of a moderate is defined in terms of what it isn't, and it isn't the extremes, as defined by the whims of current public views. This is beyond dispute.
I have shot this sad notion down at least six times. Go read an old thread, amigo. Don't bore me with this shit unless you got something new. Very few moderates are centrists, which, like the liberals and conservatives are defined by the extremes. Moderates cover a broad band of thought in the pragmatic middle of the field.
I'm sure somebody out there has a study on this . . . Segmenting of the Libertarian Vote: Tea Partiers, Civil Libertarians, and Libertarian Independents One other interesting data point from the Reason-Rupe poll. We’ve previously noted libertarians’ penchant to support third party candidates. For instance, 17 percent of libertarians supported John Anderson in 1980 and 33 percent supported Perot in 1996. What happens if you ask libertarians their vote preference and include Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson among the choices? Romney 70% Obama 13% Johnson 14% Other 3%
Ron Paul's pseudo endorsement of Romney is pulling a lot of weight, so much so that the guy who introduced Johnson on Friday night mentioned it.
true enough, we have discussed it many time and do not agree. for the record you are right that the votes are taken from republicans.
In Nevade Johnson is pulling votes from Obama. If he pulls enough votes to put the Western states in play this could get interesting. http://www.politico.com/politico44/...on-draws-mostly-from-obama-138084.html?hp=l14
Has anyone read the Libertarian Party platform? It is so full of Ayn Randian ideas that would whither the union and the society to a raw individualism that has no compassion. I belief that allowing for individual opportunity (for success & failure) is a key to our society's success yet if we don't recognize that there is a need for a government and society that supports each other and helps they weak then we have nothing but anarchy. We may and should differ on degree but all need to recognize we have a tie that binds us all together and makes the whole so much strnger than the sum of the individuals. I will hold my nose and vote for Mitt as I believe the BHO represents the polar opposite of the Libertarian Johnson and our liberty and future are at risk if BHO wins.
I'm voting for him, I think if more people vote for who they want and not care about the whole "wasted" vote thing people like him will have a realistic chance. Not this election though....
Yeah, I've read it...not sure where you are getting those views from. Here is Johnson's page and his thoughts on the issues. http://www.garyjohnson2012.com/front
