Blow the horn Tide!!! 2 amazing years and last year was a dream year!! Beat all of em and won it all!! No body can take one thing away from Bama last year. But, that was last year and we are waiting on you guys ! I hope we are the team that is the first team to beat you guys in 3 years during reg season. I was in Bama land when we did it in 2003! Geaux Tigers:tigereye:
12-0 is certainly possible. LSU has as much or more talent than anyone it plays this year. No doubt there. So LSU could conceivably run the table. Reality wise its a hell of a schedule that will be very tough to run unbeaten. Despite Bama and UF going unbeaten through the regular season its not easy to go through the SEC unbeaten. So Id expect at least one or two losses. Even three losses. Another four or five loss season isnt acceptable though. The product on the field must show some improvements. If Miles and staff get back to coaching up players, the play calling is better, JJ has better awareness, and the lines play better then LSU will be very formidable. A lot depends on this season for Miles, as well as the future of LSU football. More so for Miles. Im feeling good with what Ive read, certainly hoping for the best. I feel it will be a one or two loss team with a BCS birth. The main thing for me is to see a team that improves, not regresses. As well as a team that plays to the talent. A lot of people talk about JJ being the reason teams stacked the line. While I admit his play did leave a lot to be desired in way of his awareness. When you cant run against USL you wont, nor do you deserve any respect. So teams will be coming at you because they know youll pass. Also, when nearly every pass play called in a WR scree, slant, or 5 yard curl then yes, teams will play up close. JJ wasnt good going deep but his intermediate passes were solid, but rarely called. Yet when Lee came in the game LSU was repeatedly going deep. You must try to stretch the field to garner the respect of the D. If not they will crowd the line. JJ must improve awareness but overall its more on the coaching and OL play IMO.
And surely this will continue forever. I mean, how could Bama possibly ever lose another game? They only need think it and it is so.
Here in Tigerland (a place I can only think of now as my second home) we call that "selective editing." Am I to assume if you don't bother to rewrite all of my points you reluctantly agree, or sadly it just wasn't worth the effort. Anyway, it's always good to hear from my buddy. Till the next rewrite.
You do realize I'm with you on all this optimism. I got LSU as our toughest game this season and we play Florida. I hope when I get to BR that's at least worth a beer and a chair (that's to sit in, just in case we lose something in the translation) . If we are undefeated in SEC play and you get your wish, this will be one game well worth the trip. Going to find SC's el Resturante too. Anyone that can serve with his left hand due to extenuating circumstances is good enough for me. But I'm coming in disguise, just in case.
shoelaces are loose. yea yea yea I am sure they are loose but tie them before you lose them. :tigereye:
8-4 and pray thats enough losses to run Miles and his crew of dopes out of town. Losses to UNC, Bama, Aub and some other team we should beat. The only way we will get back to 11-1 and 10-2 seasons is to send this blockhead out of town. I love my Tigers, but this clown needs to go. Its the only way to get us back to a Top Tier program, since he has managed to bring us down to the second tier in only a handful of seasons. I'm still an anti-sunshine pumper.
Here's a question I've been pondering myself. How would people feel about a 5-loss season even with improvement in things LSU struggled with last year? Say LSU gets back to playing 4 full quarters of focused football, line play on both sides gets back to the physical style we've seen in past years, JJ improves significantly, playcalling improves, less drive-killing penalties, etc. But for whatever reason LSU gets flat-out beaten and/or outcoached instead of stomping themselves in the foot. Would fans be as upset with Miles and company even with improved play, or is it irrelevant since the result is the same?
With the very tough schedule next year I would say 3-5 losses. If LSU has more than 1 loss by the time we face Florida it's going to be a very long year. I would consider a 3 loss year for 2010 a good season considering the schedule.
