Red, if you are going to correct one of my misspelled four syllable words in the same line you really shouldn't misspell a one syllable word yourself. Let me guess what's next, I know, lets talk about trailer parks as if only one state has them, or plenty of fans from all over the SEC don't live in them. Tell you what, if you want to be really impressive, proof read this thread real quick and call everyone's heritage out as well as education on every misspelled word. Now that would be impressive. It doesn't bother me to discuss coach Saban's wins and losses. That first year at Bama he was cleaning up a rat nest. I hope when we are done though we can discuss at length what came from that first season, back in 2007, and what hasn't happened since. You seem confused, Les Miles and myself seem to be on the same page. He is determined to go to a physical running game. Many on this thread have agreed with my belief it's THE answer to what needs adjusting in Tiger land. So my feelings and comments seem to be in complete harmony with many including TC who started the subject. That it's just a quarterback thing, you will have to ask someone else. Never laid a monetary bet down in my life. Sorry red you won't be the first. Don't see where that proves conviction or football intellect. Tell you what, if CLM losses to Bama, Florida, and Ole Miss for the 3rd year in a row and he's still here, you can screem "I TOLD YOU SO." I say scream, because that's the only way I'll hear you over the discontent in the land of LSU.:angryfire:cuss:
In complete harmony with our doom and gloomers . . . right. Like I said, you don't know LSU fans like you imagine that you do. What I want to hear from you is some insight about Alabama, not what you think about LSU fans. You have credibility in the former, not the latter. Seriously. I want to know why expectations are so high that Bama will repeat given the losses you have taken. I didn't think so . . . I don't know how to screem. Sowing discontent in the land of purple and gold seems to be your game here.
Red I have been in Baton Rouge all my life and I know Tiger fans. I would say more than 50% of Tiger fans have given up on Les and waiting for the day he gets canned. That is one of the main reasons I am going to enjoy the 2010 season. As the team wins and gets better how are these Les haters going to deal with it? I enjoyed talking with a group of Bama fans this weekend and we all talked about the joys of just being college football fans. I can't talk LSU football to LSU folk because it turns into how stupid Les Miles is. I know this board is very civil and does not dog out CLM but this board is not the normal LSU fan bunch. The main reason I enjoy reading post by very good fans like yourself. :tigereye:
What "doom and gloom?" Why do you have to be a mind reader when you can read exactly what people are feeling and thinking, even you? My comments about Alabama and some of my expectations are clear and in print on this particular thread, the question is why don't you take a little time to read some of them? I'm "bullish" on LSU this season. Just goes to show, it's not good to put ulterior motives to people based simply on color.
That has not been my experience and I've worked on campus and held season tickets for 30 years. I bet you are a young guy. I expect that 50% of the teenagers and 20-somethings that have never experienced anything except the success of Nick and Les in the last decade are distraught at the prospects of 9-3. They seem to think that LSU has an inherent right to win a championship every year. But I know that a whole lot more than 50% of Tiger fans who have been around (through six straight losing seasons in the 90's) appreciate what Les has done here. LSU has been consistently good, highly ranked, plays in major bowls, and gets regular shots at the title. There ain't a lot more that you can ask from a coach in the SEC. Nick won't win every year and neither will Meyer. Les won't lose every year either. The question that is overlooked is "who would we get to replace Les that is clearly better?". The ones with credentials better than Les are at schools that they aren't going to leave. Do we start over again with a young coach like Tennessee had to do . . . Or replace a coach with a winning record with a coach with a losing record, like Auburn did? Les is one of the top recruiters in the country and they don't grow on trees. What top coach would come to a program where 10-wins a season and a national championship isn't good enough? We could quickly become a coaches graveyard like Notre Dame. In time, all coaches move on for one reason or another, but I don't see LSU paying a 16 million dollar buyout to replace a proven successful coach like Les with an unknown quantity like Dooley . . . just because he isn't perfect. Who is amigo?
bingo. but can we keep the gump talk in the college sports forum please? i prefer not to read bammer this and bammer that in lsu threads. that hijacking gets old.
Well, I don't mind them telling something we don't know about Bama, I like the constipated pachyderm. I just don't want to be lectured on what LSU fans are supposed to be thinking.
Les will be here as long as he wants after this season. Red glad you think I am young and stupid and you are all knowing about LSU football fans. My first game at LSU was in 1962 . Many LSU fans have Les fired and just waiting for the next Saban type guy to come in here and do it the right way. I am saying we have our coach and Les is fixing the ship as we speak (type). Yes I think we have a shot at 12-0 this this year and that is my right as a Tiger fan to think that. :tigereye:cliff
