FACTS: *We'll have the talent to compete for a national title. *We'll play a tough enough schedule to elevate our ranking. *We have a coach who has been there before. UNKNOWNS: *Jordan Jefferson - What will we get this season? *Injuries - Are we deep enough at all positions to overcome a major loss? *Fortune - Will the breaks go our way? Will will get the "obvious"/"blatant" calls a few SEC teams received last season?
I have doubts about how much of the (lack of) offensive personnel changes rested solely on Miles. It didn't help our buyout situation at all in looking for a change at OC when Les gave the current one a nice fat raise before last season. Particularly at a time when a lot of LSU employees are getting their notices. I wouldn't be surprised if Alleva told Miles he had to sleep in the bed he made for himself. I'm not even sure we get rid of D. J. McCarthy, who seemed to do a horrible job getting our WRs to run decent routes. His recruiting shenanigans allowed us to fire him with cause and snatch up Billy Gonzales, who should have a big impact on improving the offense.
i wouldnt either. it has been my opinion for a while now this is exactly what went down. i certainly dont believe he "chose to".
I'll keep that in mind this season. If LSU starts dominating on the ground I can truly admirer Miles for his undeterred conviction.
I agree TUSK I thought CLM in 2005 in coming in late and taking over for Saban did amazing after all the date moves and the state of Louisiana going crazy. He showed me then he could coach. The Tenn loss is all Tiger fans talk about. If I see a running game against the Tar Heels all my fears about Les and the future of LSU football are gone. The Tar Heels will be blown up before the game as being a great D team. We gain about 250 on the ground and look out Bama. That will mean the O-line is ready this year and we have the Backs. 12-0 and coming after the Tide. Geaux Tigers :tigereye:
I doubt we will go 12 and 0, regardless, but I think we will win a lot more than we will lose. BUT I KNOW I can't wait to get it cranked up. hwr
The word is ridiculous, Tusker . . . did you get you education in Alabama? :hihi: And I knew you didn't want to talk about Nicks embarrassing losses to lightweights. I don't blame you. Why don't you just tell us what Bamafans think, and quit trying to tell us what LSU fans think, because you really don't know jack about it. Put your money where your mouth is. I'll bet you $100 straight up that Miles will be the coach in 2011 no matter who we lose to. Loser pays via Paypal this time next year.
10-2 looks like the top end for this season unless a lot of things fall in place (then we could be looking at a special season). 6-6 is not out of the realm of possibility, but that all depends on how Jefferson plays late in games. He has to step up. The light has to come on this season. This is one brutal schedule with the OOC being tougher than usual.
Very young and inexperienced team this year but very talented. I'm looking for a slow start, but if we get by the first couple of games look out. 10-2, 9-3 realistically. 2011 is the year.
