So if CLM does happen to be the losing coach against USC in the NCG, will he be taking up space in your barn come January 8th? :hihi:

    Did this happen by Accident?

*Graduated University of Michigan in Economics
    *NFL Assistant Coach
    *Oklahoma State - Head Coach
*Louisiana State University - Head Coach
*Has the highest winning percentage 85% of any LSU Football coach to this point

What is laughable are the people who concentrate on the whopping 4 losses in 2 seasons, rather than the 22 wins. Miles is not some Bumpkin like Curley Hallman. Bo Pelini was his first huge hire. How'd that turn out? LSU lead the SEC in Defense for 2 years. Whether LSU gets to the Championship Game as nothing to do with his comments. He spoke the truth, and if that offends the weak minded so be it.

I thought about it some more and I actually think this makes the most sense. Coaching the players is job #1 but maintaining the cash flow from athletic support group members is #2. That money keeps the program going, keeps the facilities world class, pays the coaches salaries, etc. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that most Div 1 coaches have some bonus tied to donations or membership increases. Anyone?

Some coaches are naturally very good at it, others maybe not so much. It's one reason why I believe an extremely football talented coach like Norm Chow would struggle as a head coach. Boosters can be an unforgiving and relentless group. If what CLM said satisfied some concerns, then so be it.

I am not saying Miles is stupid. I know he is a smart man and a smart coach. But in my opinion he said something without giving it sufficient thought. Even smart people often do dumb things.

Exactly and amen. Nobody is perfect and those under the media spotlight have added pressure. Glad it's not me.

    This sounds big now...

...but the more I have thought about it. I really wonder how much it will really matter unless we meet in the NC game. If we do, there isn't much more motivating that needs to be done. I mean it is the NC game.
