I have never seen any statistics that bear out the more injuries in the SEC argument. Injuries occur in practice as well, maybe even more so. If you have that info, then I'd be more than interested to see it. Don't forget that in a playbook that had 90% or better of our plays based around the fullback, we were down to our 4th and 5th string fullback early in the season. That tends to throw your offensive scheming out the door. The NCG is hardly a waltz for USC this season. Having your toughest games at home plays much more to LSU's favor.

The Pac10 plays more tough games on the road on a regular basis.

CLM pretty much did slam USC. It's his call though, and he'll either be a hero or a goat based on those comments.

I completely agree that the comments are just one more thing to fuel an already smoldering fire. The fans certainly don't need any motivation. Has there ever been such a feeling of rivalry (hatred and animosity for those of you who feel that way) between two teams who historically have only played just 2 times? Great possibilities for the future.

Vball, I laughed at your post because it is soo true! The fans need no more fuel for our rivalry! Hell it took me awhile to warm up to you! :) now I respect yor knowledge and love for the actual game! (Still want to know why you are a member of taf though...my business or not!)

I look forward to the lsu/usc game if it pans out for both of us and agree that usc may have an easier road to it, but don't overlook a team that has a ton of talent!

Les Miles speaks frankly, better get used to it. He's neither a hero or a goat, he just speaks the truth and doesn't care if it bothers anyone.

Everybody in the SEC refers to Bama as "fugging Alabama" anyway, yet the Bammers seem surprised and think that it was a call out, even though it was supposed to be at a function with no reporters.

Later Les made the comment that he hates teams in red, obviously meaning Oklahoma, but specifically mentioning Indiana. So the Bama nation got all upset again, because surely he was talking about Bama, even though they will quickly correct you on TideFans if you refer to Bama's color as anything but crimson.

Bama needs everything they can muster to be competitive in the SEC this year and are not beyond puffing up some Les comments into locker-room smack. I don't really blame them. We also did a lot of that during the bleak Curley Hallman era at LSU.

Les making some truthful remarks about strength-of-schedule is pretty lame in my book. Every credible football expert knows that the SEC is stronger from top to bottom than any league in the country and has more title contenders to deal with. Undefeated seasons in the SEC are as rare as hens teeth. If USC is surprised to hear this, then they ain't being very honest with themselves.

I'll tell you somethng else. If USC needs locker-room material to get pumped up for the season, . . . then they ain't going to end up in the BCS game. If the Trojans are champions, they are just going to smile and forget it. If not . . .

I think everyone should congradulate Les for having the balls to say what every coach knows. It is very true and everyone who knows football will tell you that USC would not be dominate in the SEC.

I'll start with 1995, so we could use the "new" Big 12... make this all fair and all... lol....
Since that year, here's how many times a team has run the table in conference play... by conference:

    SEC......... 4
    Big10....... 4
    Big 12...... 4
    PAC 10..... 4
    ACC......... 4
    Big East.... 5

looks to me like all the hens have equal teeth!!

And if one cares to go back in time.... the SEC has had an undefeated conference champion 30 times in the past 50 years... that's dang near staggering.... check it out: (click on each conference in the smaller print midway down, not the ones at the top)
