Well we appreciate the info and the cheers, and welcome to the boards. I met some OSU fans when they came to Baton Rouge and they were a rather fun group, so glad to see you join up.

It's not just PC. It'll be motivation for kal when they play the Vols. Slam one Pac10 team, and the entire conference kind of takes it personally. Harbaugh tried the same thing and since they'll be playing at the Coliseum this season, I'm almost afraid to find out what the score will be.

I can't help but think that the media really are trying to create story lines for a build up and ratings for a possible LSU/USC NC game. Hey, it's the offseason. What else sells?

I agree...slow sports season so they need something to write about. If he'd said it in say week 2 we probably would hear about it for a few days then the weekend would be here with a whole new chapter.

this analogy must have been thrown out on one of the national talking head shows since I heard nothing of this angle yet the 10th time today someone suddenly came up with this revelation.

Quite frankly, Auburn (for obvious reasons) and MSU (due to the proximity of the two schools) and Arkansas (due to Nutt and his words/actions) have been more despised than LSU.

Right now, that situation has shifted due to the venomous feelings towards Saban and some of the interactions between the two fan bases. However, in my book, LSU is one of the respected SEC rivals.

On a side note pertaining to the thread...

These comments by Miles haven't come as a shock to me at all. He was the same way when he was at OSU.

Don't you guys recall him calling Stoops out before their game a few years ago?

Everyone knew the AP could vote differently than the BCS. I don't believe for a minute that any Tiger fan would disregard the '03 AP title if the roles were reversed. Blame the media and the NCAA, not fUSC.

Can you imagine how embarrassing it would be to lose to USC now? Not only have we had a lot of idiot fans who can't get over 03 but now these Les Miles comments.

I really hope we don't lose to USC if we get to play them.

Plus, it would be considered a home game loss...

However, because it would be played in the Sugar Bowl, I would like your chances a lot.

    It's all good.

.... how else do you explain 342 viewers on line on a Saturday morning in early July?

PURPLE TIGER HOPE is not a strategy!

I blame USC also. It was their a$$wipe coach who publicly stated that they shouldn't even bother playing the Sugar Bowl because his team had already wrapped up the title. He whined more than Spurrier and that's hard to do!

I don't like when players or coaches provide bulletin board material but if Miles did this proactively then it may not have been a bad move. I enjoyed the fact that it ticked off a few in the media. They often try to convince us that the Pac-10 is a great conference, so it's nice to throw it back in their face.

It would be nice if the Pac-10 were on the same level as the SEC, Big 10, Big 12, and ACC...but they're not. It's that simple. I'm glad to see that USC plays a team like Nebraska. Unfortunately their conference rivals just aren't on the same level.
