Why isn't Obama getting blasted for not visiting Louisiana?

I agree, and I consider myself incredibly fortunate that in both the cases of Katrina and the floods, I live just outside the affected region and don't need a dime's worth of relief. So I won't defend or criticize the speed of the response to either. I'm just addressing the original topic, which was Obama's putting his feet on the ground and shaking hands with victims. Unless he's personally putting FEMA checks in the hands of victims, its pure symbolism. But if it makes the victims feel good, I'm all for it. The real work, getting FEMA, SBA, etc, moving, is already done. On a side note, I'm interested to see if Hillary will match or top Trump's arrival with a check and a truckload of supplies. So far all she's said is that she will visit at such time as when her presence won't hinder relief efforts. That's fine too, but if you're going to show up at all, you'd better be bringing more than photographers with you.

I'm interested to see if the Clinton Foundations donate anything and how people will react to that.

So every facking person from Hillary to Obama to McCain to moronic Hollywood suck-ups were blasting Bush and pulling out the racist card but somehow Obama gets a hall pass? Fuck that.

Regardless, don't care if either one of them or any future president for that matter shows their sorry fucking faces in my state.

Actually Bush declared the state and area a disaster prior to the storm hitting and released FEMA and other federal agencies to begin work. He pledged $52 billion to rebuild the area. When the management was not up to the task (it truly sucked) he replaced them.
The inaction he was falsely accused of was getting people out of the city and getting relief to the Superdome & Convention Center after. If you remember the devestation was so extensive and flooding so bad it took time to move everything the long distance. You can't evacuate too many people in helicopters.
The federal response was flawed but underlying the problem was the size of the storm and the complete failure of city and state governments. Nagin and Blanco were worse than useless.
