You damn skippy! That's why we must fight short, violent, smart wars, not foolish, endless wars that gain us nothing. But even without the war, the unfunded government spending of the Bush administration dwarf those of his predecessor who posted surpluses. It didn't help that he cut national income at the same time in his Save the Billionaires economic plan. It forced us to become the biggest borrower nation in the history of the world.
That's brilliant, Red. We should've thought of that thousands of years ago. Except that the enemy gets a vote, and if they vote for long, limited, semi-violent wars, then you have to fight the war you're in... Cut national income? Do tell. Dumbest statement you've ever made. If anyone is to blame for where we are now in terms of national debt, it's not Bush. You could argue it's Reagan or Carter or even those before them. But Bush was handed a national security situation that NONE of the serious leaders of our time would've handled very much differently in terms of monetary expenditure. I hate partisan politics. It brings out the hypocrite in good people.
Probably goes back further. If you are talking about Iraq then I think you are wrong... I hate partisan politics as well.
The enemy didn't start the Iraq war, Jethro. They sat laughing in Pakistan while Bush started the Iraq war against a country that was no threat to us. A Trillion dollars later, he still hasn't got a clue. Neither do you. Did you forget the irresponsible Bush tax cuts which resulted in unprecdented deficits, Einstein?
