    Based on what?

He's reliable, he can run, he can block, he can catch passes.

I'm not sure where we would be right now without Hester right now.

He may not be the flashiest runner we have but he has been the most consistant. Plus, he does all the little things like pick up blitzes and catch passes better than the rest of the backs. Ideally, I would like to see him at FB so we can utilize his blocking and receiving skills but get one of the more talented running backs into the game.

    LSU!

And that's why he is the starting RB, he is good and consistant at many things which help the offense. The only kicker is that he doesn't have break away speed and isn't a threat to take one all the way from a distance. The problem is almost every big time team has a back with break away ability and it's a huge plus for an offense, but LSU doesn't have that with Hester. Still it's hard to complain about the quality job he has done, I just wish one of the speedier backs would step up his game and give us that break away ability.

I complained about Hester during the Arizona game, but he's simply done it all for LSU.. including rushing, blocking, and receiving. He's my MVP so far this year.

I think that's why many of us fans have a problem with continuing to pound the ball between the tackles. Hester is our best RB thus far, but he's not the kind of RB to run inside over and over again, and eventually break one.

If we had a healthy AB, you could do that knowing that he'll break a few runs sooner or later. That's why teams like Ark and Auburn are so successful running. They keep pounding away with Irons and McFadden, knowing they'll break loose a few times.

Through no fault of Hester, you never get that feeling that he's about to break loose. Either find someone who can do that or stop trying to pound the middle. I hope we find the answer by Nov 4th!

As all of you already know, the answer is clearly Alley Broussard. The only question is will he be ready. Alley @ RB and Hester @ FB, now that is a great combination !

Actually Jordan is the better blocking FB and has the ability to catch the ball.
