And what is ignorant is to try to argue that the flag shouldn't offend black people. Or that the Civil War wasn't about slavery. Yes it was about states rights...and which right was being threatened that started the whole thing?...

Well we still protect it and that always these people to protest the things that offend them.

 

People allow themselves to be offended by things. They should stop being offended by it, and it will lose all value. This is not complicated.

Do you not understand the difference between promoting one's right to say or do something versus actually agreeing with the content of what they're doing? It's a key distinction, especially in this sort of discussion.

Personally, I think the flag is foolish, which is even more reason for someone to not be offended by peoples' ignorance. But that's beside the point.

 

Actually in the other thread dealing with race today I was defending most people on here saying that I felt the vast majority wasn't being racist in any criticism of Jamarcus. Evidently it's you who needs to read my post.

And evidently I was wrong.

 

And that is why in my post I did not say the flag should be banned or anthung of that nature. I believe any one should have the right to fly whatever flag they wish, but I also do know that it can reflect negatively on their group, school, organization, whatever and that it will bring on the opinion that people who fly them are racist no matter reason they fly it.

Just like the people who curse and threaten visitors to the football games don't care who they offend but nevertheless bring a black eye to the program and us fans.

 

Why should I add that? I'm sorry if it offends people, but like I said, there are a lot things that offend me. Do you really think those people care if I am offended by it? I think not. Do I care that they don't care? Nope. Because it's a little thing called Freedom of Speech. It is a right that has been protected by the Constitution of the United States for over 200 years. I see no issue.
