1. I hate to agree with saltyone about anything on this thread  , but I have to...

    Martin, you are freakin weird.

I have to wonder if you actually believe the crap you type or if you just like stirring the pot, so to speak.
  2. Yes and yes, I'd say
  3. you fellers are so brainwashed to be loyal to your race and religions of birth that it is a weird and foreign concept that people can actually decide what sort of cultural things they like.

you guys are like black voters. they never think, they look at their skin, then walk into the booth and vote democrat. they are black, blacks vote democrat. you gotta go with whatever your race is doing, gotta have pride in your arbitrary characteristic of skin color.

born into a white christian family? then you had your mind made up for you. you embrace the values of your parents. for no real reason other than random birth factors. dont insult whites! i was born that way by chance!
  4. I think martin believes most everything he says, but he does stir the pot on occassion. When he's not doing that, I usually agree with him - like in this case.
  5. You two traitorous honkies. How dare you not stand up for honkies around the world? I mean, if someone SAYS something about crackers, you have an obligation as white bread to think that person saying it is somehow harming you. So come on Opie, speak up with yo white ass!
  6. actually to be technical about it, he is the only one who doesn't recognize race. if you would condone punching a black guy for yelling out insults to whites or vice versa, you actually "support" or "recognize" a race difference that could possibly offend one or the other. Giving the whole "race" issue a leg to stand on.

trully for all to be equal, a true none racist society, one would simply "not care" one way or the other. the individual doing the insulting would be deemed so ignorant that having to live through his entire life with himself and the economic and social pain endured/afforded him would be enough for him to bear, even if he did so in ignorant bliss.

    education is the key.
  7. This is the issue most people seem to be missing. Just because some are flying the confederate flag doesn't mean they are racist, southern separatists, rednecks, or any other stereotype associated with it. IMO most of these guys would wave around any peice of tattered cloth that was painted pruple and gold on game day, regardless of what it may mean. I truly believe most of these flag fliers are more interested in it being a flag somewhat different than most other flags seen on campus, yet shows the school colors quite cleary so everyone know their alliance. Trying to find a deeper meaning behind it is almost pointless, because there is no deeper meaning. I'd be almost willing to bet if a purple and gold banner with the words "F*** America" screenprinted on it some schmuck would wave it around proudly not knowing or caring what kind of backlash it might cause from people trying figure out his reason behind it. All he's worried about is that his flag is purple and gold.
Also, how does banning a flag change anything? Does anyone feel any less resentment about our past because we can't see the flag anymore? Are black people history any less depressing because society no longer allows rebel flags to be flown? I feel the same way about banning Native American mascots. How many Indians lives are any better or worse now that the NCAA has decided to ban some Native American mascots?
  8.
  9. I'm going to have to disagree with you. I'm sure some people feel like this, but I don't think it's the majority. If this were truly the case, they would stop waiving the flag once they knew it insulted so many people. Instead, LSU has seen a few people take theirs down & a few become even more obnoxious about displaying it.
