Why is everyone crying about the Rebel Flag.............

why? So if somebody calls you a honkey or negro or whatever racial perjorative is applicable, you actually get offended?? :rofl::rofl: Or if you see a flag you don't like, you get offended? That's garbage.

What do I care if people want to wave Black Panthers flags, or KKK, or hell, throw in a Hamas flag. I don't know why I would be offended by what bonafide morons are espousing.

 

S owhat part is laughable? That most Americans do see the rebel flag as racist? If you do not believe that then you do have your head stuck in the sand. After being in Atlanta for all of the flag controversy and seeing what has transpierd in South Carolina, I can attest to what I've seen and heard. Especially since Atlanta is full of transplants. The people here were overwhelmingly in suport of changing the state flag, not because of what it stood for, but because of most people's perceptions of it.

And whenver I look at the people who fly those flags I do have believe they fly them more to bring angst to others than in some belief of what the flag truely stands for.

 

The civil war was about states rights. Slavery was the battle cry for the North.

It is amazing how many people forget that within the Declearation of Indepence it is writting that our government was step up to be ruled by the people and that is one day the people became unhappy with the goverment then it was our duty to stand up and change it.
The South did just that and was meet with the sword, and if only Lee did not invade the North at Gettysberg then the war would have ended and the South would have been allowed to leave the union.

If it is not the damn flag it will be something else and it will always be something else.

You know America left the Union of England many many years ago. That seemed to work out great for people.

It ends when there are no more color when everyone gets with everyone else and we start coming out a yellowish,tan mix with blond hair and blue eyes.

 

Those are the flags that belong on campus.

You want to fly this one at home, so be it, but leave it off campus

That may all be true, but it comes down to having the right to fly the flag, no matter how much one doesn't like what it stands for. We've become so sensitive these days and too many people want to resolve such issues by limiting free speech.

The purple and gold confederate flag makes no sense to me. But then again, a lot of things in this country makes no sense to me. One of the few things that makes any sense to me is the right to free speech.

 

They have the right to protest and say whatever it is they want about people who fly the flag. Just as I have ever right to fly it and say what I want about them protesting over it.

We have already started this trend of taken away peoples rights to free speech just to apease another group. We are in a downward spiral with this matter and I forsee it getting alot worse before it gets any better.

 

Write it down ... this flag will eventually be banned from LSU. May not happen before the season is over, but I'm willing to bet it will happen before next season starts. State leaders will get involved.

It'll be another sad day for free speech...

 

I guess the First Amendment rights I've sworn to protect don't mean jacks*** then? I'm no redneck and I love that flag. I don't care who the hell it offends. There are a lot of things that people of all races do that offend me. Do I get my panties in a wad and stage a protest? No. Why? Because I've got better things to do with my time than bitch and complain about something I have no control over.
