1. As was said above, the great thing about Miles is that he is loyal to his team rather than looking for a better opportunity like Saban. (at least that's what the people in Stillwater tell me about Miles)
  2. You're gonna hang yourself when Miles win a MNC aren't you? It;s obviously p!$$ing you off that he's been as successful as he has been, I'm just curious how you're gonna handle an undefeated season next year.
  3. I'd be ecstatic. I'm an LSU fan. Whether one thinks Miles is a great, average, or below-average coach does not affect his fanatacism for LSU.
  4. Damn straight! Miles has proven to be a winner and a great recruiter. You cannot marginalize what he has done for LSU in the past 2 seasons.

    :geauxtige
  5. Yeah, the only coach who has done better than Miles in his first two seasons that I can think of is Larry Coker and I guess Urban Meyer. So, I guess I'd have to rate Miles the third best all-time college football coach behind Coker and Meyer. Or, at least in the top 10
  6. Since you're being sarcastic, why not just put Miles at the top?
  7. The answer to this question is simple. He is not on the list because he has not won a championship of any kind, and the "big games" that he has won were done so on ad lib plays that end up on the ESPN top 10 plays of the week awards. So the credit goes to the players and not the coach.

You can't bitch about his record, but there are not too many so called experts that do not refer to LSU as the most talented team in the nation, when MIles learns to use the talent to put away opponents, then he will make the A list.
  8. great post, lsu-i-like. As an objective observer, IMO, you nailed it.

Try and name a respected coach from the SEC that didn't earn it by making his bones in the SEC ? ..... Meyer has considerably more respect now than when he arrived 2 seasons ago - believe it, there's a difference between hype and respect. And in truth, Miles probably didn't get the respect he deserved in his first year there. I give Miles a ton of credit for bringing Pelini in .... that was a shrewd move by a coach who's seen a rodeo or three.:thumb:

  9. Yeah. That "Bluegrass Miracle" really saved Mile's a$$.
  10. i call it the "joe torre" syndrome. everyone knows joe torre sucks, with all of that talent he should win the world series every year!!! imagine if someone who knew what they were doing was the manager of the yankees!
